Styling this kitchen feels like a dream come true. I never thought we would reach this point, as this time last year, we were going through hell with the conveyancing for the house. I didn’t know it yet, but October 2024 was about to be one of the most stressful months of my life. We had hoped to move in around September and October, but things just got progressively worse, and the whole thing almost fell through so many times.

I decorated my old kitchen for autumn, even though I was hoping it wouldn’t be my kitchen for much longer. It was a strange feeling as I didn’t want to decorate for autumn, only to pack up and leave. But there was no end in sight, so I just went for it. It was making a house I was beginning to hate feel like home. I was in limbo with so many unanswered questions.

We eventually moved in the middle of December. This year, I can finally decorate this kitchen for autumn – something I had dreamed of doing all last year.

So, here we are. September, in my autumn kitchen. I’ve unpacked my autumn decor from last year and bought a few new bits for this year.

The dining table

The dining table is the heart of the kitchen, and I treated myself to a new tablecloth from Primark. I also have my tablecloths from last year to use again! The placemat, vase and flowers are a couple years old now, as are the candles. I got the candlesticks with the work I did with La Redoute at the start of summer.

The Welsh dresser

Our Welsh dresser is probably too cluttered! I’ve removed some of the spring and summer pieces to make way for some autumn items. I grew the mini pumpkins myself! I’d love to style this a bit better by adding some taller pieces to enhance the height in certain areas and framing some A4 prints to display at the back. It looks a bit flat, but I was working with what I have.

The coffee station

I’ve changed the pictures above the coffee station to the same ones from last year! I also made the pumpkin myself as I’ve been learning crochet! Please ignore the blue clock – I’m trying to teach my son how to read a clock rather than the digital clock on the oven that he is currently fixated with.

Cooker hood and sides

I’ve swapped the herb picture for this pumpkin one, the spring vase and flowers for the dark green one and added some autumn bits to the top of the cooker hood.

This entire kitchen is old and a bit shabby, so please overlook its appearance. It’s been scrubbed, but parts still look grim. It really could do with a paint job, new worktops, and the tiles regrouting!

Tea station

I’ve put my autumn cups on the hooks here – I love having the mugs all hung up! It’s such a lovely way to display my seasonal favourites!

Here, you can witness Roly not consenting to his photo being taken and posted online. He was just trying to rest, but I wanted to show you my autumn cushions!

I love this window seat so much! It’s so handy! I always wanted a kitchen that could fit a sofa in as well as a table. Well, this one can’t. But this is the next best thing!

I hope you love my kitchen as much as I do. It’s not new, nor trendy, but it’s mine.

  1. Love it love it love it! What a fabulous kitchen. I feel like autumn is a great time for county decor! I really like the print switch up – This is something we need to do more often really. Such an easy one, but I imagine it’ll make a massive difference. And yay for your pumpkins too!
