Taking a look at Lands’ End swimwear collection has got me desperate to go on holiday. Can you believe I’ve not been on a sunny beach holiday since 2018? Well, I guess it’s not that hard to believe seeing as we went through covid and I had a baby in that time. I’m not keen to travel with a toddler just yet!

My body has changed a lot in those 5 years. Does anyone remember when I used to go to the gym 5 times a week and have personal training sessions? Now the only gym sessions I go to are The Little Gym for my toddler and I just don’t have the time to go to the gym while watching a toddler all day and working in an evening. But anyway, this is getting off-topic. So my point is that I needed to upgrade my swimwear collection for my new mum-bod. Which I guess is just my actual body now. (Just to point out, I don’t think there is anything wrong with my new shape and size, it has just been an adjustment getting used to how it feels, it didn’t feel like me for a long time.)

Lands’ End got in contact about reviewing their swimwear collection and I was happy to oblige as their swimwear section is right up my street. Think maxi-dress cover-ups, tankinis with lovely patterns, mix-and-match shorts or pants, cute sundresses.

They do have a bikini section also, but I’ve never felt comfortable in a bikini. In fact, I’ve not worn one since I was 19! It doesn’t matter what weight I am, I prefer to cover my stomach up. Not to mention that I have moles on my stomach and back so I’d rather have them covered than exposed to the sun. I’ve always been quite sun conscious like that. It’s not uncommon for me to come back from a 2-week holiday in Greece pretty much as white as when I went.

Anyway, I think you should wear what you are comfortable in and Lands’ End allows you to do that. They really do have something for everyone so you can cover up as little or much as you want.

Let’s take a look at the company.

About Lands’ End

Lands’ End is an American clothing and lifestyle brand that was founded in 1963. The company initially started selling yachting equipment for racing sailors, but over the years, it expanded its product range to include a wide variety of clothing, accessories, and home goods.

A funny story about Lands’ End is that the very first catalogue cover misplaced the apostrophe in “Lands’ End,” but there was a lack of funds for a reprint so “Lands’ End” stuck.

Lands’ End’s emphasis is on quality, durability, timeless style and comfort. They aim to make ‘Sunday Comfrot’ part of customers’ every day. life.

The brand has classic and versatile designs that cater to men, women, and children. They offer a range of clothing, including outerwear, swimwear, tops, bottoms, and accessories. Lands’ End also provides a selection of home goods, such as bedding, towels, and decor items. There is even a small pet section.

Lands’ End is committed to sustainability and responsible business practices. They have initiatives in place to reduce waste, promote recycling, and use eco-friendly materials in their products.

By 2025, their goals are to achieve:

  • 100% of polyester fibres from a recycled source
  • 100% of cotton from a sustainable source
  • 100% sustainable packaging and labelling

Charity Initiatives

They also support various charitable organisations and community projects.

Here are some of the charities they work with:

  • Breast cancer research foundation
  • Future Dreams
  • Pink Ribbon
  • One Warm Coat
  • One Warm Winter
  • WrapUp London

Lands’ End Swimwear Collection

As I mentioned above, Lands’ End has an amazing swimwear collection. They do sizes from 6-28 so cater for most people.

They even sell mastectomy swimwear. Mastectomy swimwear caters to women who have had breast surgery. The swimwear is specially crafted with features that accommodate their needs, such as built-in pockets to hold prostheses and modified design elements like higher necklines and armholes. These adaptations aim to enhance women’s confidence, provide additional support, and ensure they feel comfortable and secure while enjoying their time at the beach or pool.

One item I was really impressed with was the swim dress. It’s a mini-dress with a one-piece underneath. I would have LOVED this item if I was going to go on holiday and I’ll probably come back and invest myself if we book one. Here it is if you want to take a look at them.

Tankini with shorts

I’ve always been a lover of tankini but I’ve never had one with shorts. Because I go swimming once a week, I thought it would be good to get something I could wear here in the UK as well as if we go on holiday. This tankini ticks all boxes. It offers coverage if you feel self-conscious and the shorts are great if you are not a fan of normal bikini bottoms. Shorts would be a lifesaver if you’re on your period while on holiday. There’s always the fear of the string, amiright ladies?

So I went to the tankini section and found a square neck tankini top that comes in many different patterns. I opted for the black havana floral style.

Tankini top bra

It is designed with your comfort and support in mind, this swimsuit features an underwired bra (pictured above) and adjustable straps to ensure the perfect fit. The swimsuit is made from UPF 50 fabric, providing excellent sun protection, and it’s crafted with 77% nylon and 23% Lycra® Xtra Life™ elastane, ensuring durability even against chlorine, sunscreen, and heat.

You can mix and match with your preferred swim bottoms for a personalised look.

For the bottoms, I picked some black shorts. The shorts offer excellent coverage and a flattering fit that sits comfortably around my waist. There are even hidden side pockets, every girl needs pockets.

It’s made from UPF 50 fabric, providing excellent sun protection. The material is a combination of 77% nylon and 23% Lycra® Xtra Life™ elastane, these swim shorts are designed to resist breakdown from chlorine, sunscreen, and heat.

I’m really happy with this tankini and short set! The top is so comfortable, I was a bit worried about the underwired bra as I don’t wear underwires since having Leo (due to still nursing) so I was worried how my tolerance for them would be, but it’s really comfortable and I got the sizing just right as it lifts and supports my chest.

Beach Cover-up

The second item I picked was from the beach cover-up section. I was stuck with what to pick. I really wanted to go for a maxi dress as I LOVE maxi dresses, but instead, I went for the Kaftan cover-up in blackberry/strawberry jacobean.

The lightweight material will keep me cool and comfortable. If we ever have any hot days this summer, I’ll be wearing this for sure. It’s so comfortable, too. I love the stylish V-neckline and short Dolman sleeves. The gathered waist with a drawstring makes it easy to pull it in at the waist if that’s what you want.

This beach cover-up is made from 100% modal fabric which is more eco-friendly than cotton. With a machine washable design, caring for this dress is easy.

I love this dress and think it would be great as both a cover-up for beach days or a lightweight dress if you’re exploring. The extra protection around the chest and shoulders is a good way to protect your skin if you’ve had enough sun. I love having shoulder and chest protection in my cover-ups.

Go have a look at Lands’ End, their 2023 swimwear collection is lovely.

  1. I LOVE that cover up! I am no longer in bikinis but I’m ok with that.. I now live for more coverage and more modesty because I’m running around after a toddler who gets into everything. I’ve not heard much of this brand but will get shopping now!

  2. I love the idea of a tankini with shorts! I have a hard body shape for bathing suits–and clothes in general on my bottom half, I guess–but the idea of shorts is fantastic. I had no idea about Lands End’s sustainability and charity initiatives, so that was great to learn about too 🙂

  3. That’s interesting brand and they have great goals. First time to know about this brand but look nice.

  4. love how you’ve highlighted the different styles and patterns available in the collection. The last cover up is definitely my kind of vibe!

  5. I haven’t heard of Lands’ End, but they do sound like a great brand especially because they have taken initiatives to be more sustainable. Also, I love the black and white tankini with shorts, and the beach cover-up is pretty too!
