Winter is coming! I don’t know about you, but I’m in need of a new reliable winter coat. I have to admit that my old winter coat no longer fits me and hasn’t since I had a baby. I did wear it last year but it’s a little snug when fashened up! Last winter, we didn’t have too many cold days and there wasn’t any snow in York, so it wasn’t too much of an issue.  However, I’d rather be prepared and have a warm coat ready for this winter. But with so many options available, how do you choose the right one? So let’s take a look at some winter coats from Lands’ End’s collection.

Landsend Winter Coats Review

It was such a sunny day when I was taking these photos, but it was so cold! I love those cold, frosty mornings that are bright! The jeans are also from Lands’ End but I bought them myself.

The Importance of Winter Coats

When temperatures plunge, a good water-resistant winter coat is your first line of defence against the cold and rain. A high-quality winter coat keeps you warm and protects you from harsh weather conditions. I always think the worst thing about the cold weather is when it’s windy! Feeling a cold wind and having your hair all over the place is awful!

About Lands’ End

Lands’ End is a well-known brand that I’ve worked with many times now. The brand is known for its high-quality clothing, including winter coats. They have a reputation for good customer service and products that last. They offer a wide range array of winter coats with different fill powers, making it easy to find one that suits your specific needs. When I think of Lands’ End, I think of long-lasting clothes that are simple and functional. Their items are staple pieces of clothing that you will have for a long time.

A Closer Look at Lands’ End Coats

Lands’ End has lots of lovely high-quality winter coats in many colours, shapes and sizes. They also have temperature ratings which give you an idea of how warm a coat will be. The ratings are ‘warm, warmer and warmest’. These are the coats I picked:

Lands’ End Quilted Down Coat With Stretch

Lands’ End has made a fantastic coat here that’s both practical and stylish. This winter coat has some great features. It has a water-resistant exterior, making it a reliable choice even on rainy days. The innovative 600-fill power HyperDRY™ down insulation, used in the body and sleeves, provides lots of warmth. It’s also sustainable – the side panels, hood, and collar are insulated with recycled PrimaLoft, derived from four recycled plastic bottles which is such a nice feature. This eco-conscious approach shows Lands’ End’s dedication to the environment but also ensures you can do your bit for the environment, too, by buying more eco-friendly options.

Lands' End Quilted Down Coat With Stretch - Blue. Landsend Winter Coats Review

The coat has a stand collar and a lined hood, it’s really cosy. The two-way zipper front and storm flap with poppers offer added warmth.  There is an internal popper chest pocket (I love secret interior pockets!) and zipped hip pockets. The fleece-lined pockets are so soft and warm. I’ll probably want to keep these soft fleece pockets empty so I can keep my hands in there!

The quilting seams and the lightweight down/recycled PrimaLoft combination insulation create a silhouette in the coat which I love. The hint of stretch in the shell means it’s a snug fit. I can’t believe how lightweight is it. I thought it would be pretty heavy but it’s not at all. The coat sits thigh length on me (I’m 5ft 7), which is a good length for me as I’m not a fan of a long coat.

The down insulation undergoes a special treatment called HyperDRY™, making it repel rain. And again, with the eco-friendly features – the insulation is made from recycled materials.

The coat’s temperature rating is “WARMER” so it will provide you with warmth in cold and wet weather. I personally would avoid one that’s rated as maximum warmth as I’m the type of person who overheats very quickly – especially if I’m moving around!

Women’s Water Repellent Quilted Jacket

This is another eco-friendly coat by Lands’ End. This water-repellent jacket combines warmth, style, and sustainability all in one. What drew me to this jacket was the 100% recycled polyester construction. Like most people, I’m trying to make more effort to buy sustainable clothing items.

The jacket is feather-light and bulk-free, so it’s easy to wear. Whether you’re pairing it with tees on milder days or layering it over jumpers during colder weather, this jacket is a great choice.

The jacket has a water-repellent shell that stands up to showers, so you will stay dry and comfortable even in unpredictable weather conditions (which is basically daily in the UK!). Plus there’s a hood for a bit of extra protection against the elements.

The jacket has a zip front and open hip pockets, so it’s super convenient. The dipped front and back hem looks great as well as provides additional coverage, making it a great choice for chilly days.

The jacket’s temperature rating is “WARMER”, so it’s great in colder weather and for outdoor adventures.

Sizing and Fit

One of Lands’ End’s strengths is its inclusive sizing. They offer coats in different sizes, including regular, petite and plus, ensuring a perfect fit for every body type. I find the sizing is accurate, so you never have to worry about it being too small or too big.

My Thoughts On Landsend Coat

This is the first time had a coat from Lands’ End, and I’m impressed. They offer good quality, durability, and warmth. Whether you’re looking for a heavy coat for extreme cold or a lighter option for milder winters, Lands’ End has plenty of choice.
