If you’re looking for a new cordless vacuum cleaner, the Tefal X-Force Flex could be your answer. It’s new in the UK and packs some cool features for cleaning. I’ve been using it the past few days, and I’m going to be sharing my thoughts.

Tefal X-Force Flex

Design and Features

The Tefal X-Force Flex cordless stick vacuum has flex technology, a boost trigger for deep power, and advanced cleaning heads like the Vision head and Aqua head. It also features the latest Tefal technologies, making it lightweight and easy to use.

Flex technology

Flex technology in the Tefal X-FORCE Flex 15.60 Pet & Car is such a great feature. This technology lets the main tube bend, making it much easier to clean under sofas and reach those tricky spots that usually get overlooked. It also helps with storing the vacuum cleaner when not in use, as you can fold it down to save space.

This bending feature doesn’t just add convenience; it significantly enhances manoeuvrability around furniture and tight corners. I found that I could glide through cleaning tasks without having to move heavy items out of the way, ensuring every nook and cranny gets proper attention.

Boost trigger

The boost trigger is a special button that opens up a burst of extra suction power, ideal for tackling stubborn dirt and debris. With just a simple press, you can instantly increase the vacuum’s airflow, so it picks up even more. This boost option is especially handy when dealing with difficult spots or transitioning between different types of floors. Whether it’s pet hair on your sofa or crumbs in deep crevices, activating this feature enables strong, constant suction power that lifts and removes particles effortlessly. It ensures that no matter the floor type or mess size, you achieve maximum efficiency without having to go over the same area multiple times.

It’s great for me in areas under the table where my toddler drops food, and the cardboard from my cat’s scratch mat.

Advanced cleaning heads (vision head, aqua head, suction head)

The Tefal X-Force Flex has advanced cleaning accessories. Each head is purpose-built for different cleaning tasks, offering versatility and high performance.

  1. Vision head: This smart accessory lights up and reveals hidden dust and dirt on all types of floors. With LEDs on the front, it makes sure no speck escapes your view, even in low light.
  2. Aqua head: A game-changer for those who love a spotless floor, the Aqua head both vacuums and mops at once. This dual action saves time without compromising on quality, ensuring hard floors shine without the need to switch tools. The Aqua head bundle is sold separately.
  3. Suction head: Designed for deep cleans, this head has a powerful suction that lifts dirt from carpets and crevices. It’s ideal for getting pet hair and embedded debris out of soft furnishings, making your home feel fresh.

These heads ensure your Tefal X-Force Flex adapts to various cleaning needs effortlessly. Now let’s move on to explore how its performance measures up.

LED digital control display

The LED digital control display really shows Tefal’s commitment to cutting-edge technology. It shows how much charge you have left and adjusts suction power automatically depending on the floor type. So you won’t waste battery life!

Lightweight and easy to use

The Tefal X-Force Flex has a light build and straightforward operation. Users find it simple to switch between tools with a simple click, and it’s easy to clear the dustbin.

This makes cleaning tasks less of a chore, allowing for quick adjustments without needing to halt your work.

Maintenance and Cleaning

One thing I’ve found a bit frustrating with the X-Force Flex 15.60 is how faffy it can be to empty. Unlike Dyson models where you just pull a lever and the dirt drops straight into the bin, with the Tefal you have to actually take the casing off and remove the filter before you can get rid of the dust. It’s not the end of the world, but it does make the process a bit more awkward and messy than it needs to be.

The filter itself is washable, which is handy, though it does need a good rinse every so often to keep the suction strong. I also notice the brush head does pick up hair that needs detangling, especially if you’ve got pets or long hair in the household. It’s manageable, but Shark’s anti-hair wrap technology definitely has the edge here.

Performance

Suction power (up to 230 Air Watts)

This powerful cordless stick vacuum has up to 230 Air Watts of suction force, making it a top choice for deep cleaning. With such high suction power, it effortlessly picks up dust and dirt from various surfaces around your home. The Tefal X-Force Flex not only handles regular messes with ease but also tackles tougher debris without problem.

Battery Life and Modes

One thing worth talking about is the battery life, as this is where cordless vacuums often differ the most. On the normal mode, I can usually get close to an hour of use, which is more than enough to do a full clean of the downstairs and upstairs in one go. Switch it to boost mode, though, and the battery drains quickly – I get around 7–8 minutes at best before it needs charging again. It’s powerful in that mode, so great for stubborn dirt or carpets, but not something you can realistically use for the whole clean.

The auto mode, which adapts suction depending on whether you’re on carpet or hard flooring, strikes a nice balance. It gives me enough power when needed without eating through the battery too fast. Since getting my replacement battery, I’ve noticed the performance is consistent and reliable, with no overheating issues so far..

Intelligent cleaning

The Tefal X-Force Flex 15.60 offers intelligent cleaning with its adjustable power modes and built-in cleaning attachments. It features an LED digital screen for viewing power intensity and remaining battery life, providing up to one hour and 20 minutes of runtime. With a sturdy build and easy-to-clean dust container, the vacuum enhances its intelligent cleaning capabilities for efficient maintenance.

The vacuum cleaner also incorporates advanced technologies that underpin its intelligent cleaning functionality, such as the flex tube design and the unique combination of high-tech innovations aimed at delivering exceptional performance on various surfaces.

Efficient all-floor brush

The efficient all-floor brush of this vacuum cleaner ensures hassle-free cleaning on different surfaces. Equipped with the latest Tefal technologies, it effectively tackles carpets, hard floors, and other areas. The accessories provided for cleaning from floor to ceiling, on stairs, and in the car make it a versatile tool for overall household cleanliness.

Aqua mop for hard floors

The Tefal X-Force Flex 15.60 comes with the option to buy the new Aqua Head accessory, specifically tailored for hard floors. This attachment not only vacuums but also washes hard floors concurrently, making it a suitable solution for those seeking more than just vacuuming.

The Aqua Head is designed to enhance the cleaning results on hard floors, unlocking a unique cleaning experience that combines robust dust pick-up performance and long-lasting results.

Great for pet owners

The Tefal X-Force Flex cordless stick vacuum is great for pet owners like me. The powerful eco position and rotating brush ensure efficient removal of pet hair and dander from all types of flooring.

The sofa brush and crevice tool help with detailed cleaning around furniture and in corners where pet hair tends to accumulate. The removable battery adds convenience for extended cleaning sessions, ensuring that pet owners can maintain a clean environment seamlessly.

In specs, Tefal rates this model at up to 230 Air Watts with a fade-free runtime of 1 hour 20 minutes in eco mode. In my own use, though, that only applies when you’re on lower suction settings. Expert Reviews tested the vacuum and found it reached 31.5 kPa — nudging ahead of certain Dyson models — but it couldn’t sustain that level beyond about 6 minutes in boost mode. In contrast, Dyson’s Gen5 Detect held full power for over 12 minutes in their test. So, while the Tefal looks great on paper, the real-world performance confirms that boost mode is best used sparingly

Important Note: Battery Recall and Replacement Experience

It’s worth mentioning that there was a battery recall for certain Tefal X-Force Flex 15.60 (and 14.60) models after reports that the batteries could overheat. Tefal contacted customers and offered a free replacement battery.

I was one of the people affected and received my replacement directly from Tefal. The process itself was straightforward – I simply registered my details on their recall page, and a new battery was sent out to me. Swapping it over was easy enough, and I’ve had no issues since. The new battery feels reliable, though I do try to avoid running the vacuum for too long on full boost mode, just to be cautious.

If you do own this model, I’d strongly recommend checking the Tefal recall page to see if your vacuum is included. If it is, stop using the original battery straight away and request a replacement – it’s free of charge and could prevent a potential safety issue.

Durability and Repair Commitment

Another thing worth mentioning is Tefal’s promise of a 15-year repair commitment. They’ve designed the X-Force Flex 15.60 with durability and repairability in mind, meaning that spare parts are expected to be available for well over a decade. That’s quite reassuring, especially when you’re spending this amount of money on a vacuum. It gives me confidence that if anything goes wrong in the future, I won’t be left with an expensive piece of kit that can’t be fixed.

So far, mine has held up well with regular use – no loose fittings or signs of wear – and knowing Tefal has this policy in place makes me feel like it’s a product that’s built to last.

How It Compares to Dyson and Shark

A lot of people looking at cordless vacuums end up weighing up Tefal against the big names like Dyson or Shark. I’ve tried Dyson models in the past, and while they are fantastic, they also come with a hefty price tag. In terms of suction, I find the X-Force Flex 15.60 holds its own very well on both carpets and hard floors. The auto suction mode that adapts to different surfaces is a real plus point too.

Where Dyson usually edges ahead is in refinement – things like slightly lighter handling and a sleeker docking system. Shark, on the other hand, often competes strongly on price and is known for their anti‑hair wrap technology, which can be a game‑changer if you have pets. I do still get some tangling in the Tefal’s brush, so that’s something to keep in mind.

That said, the Tefal is excellent value for money considering its power, flexible design, and now the reassurance of a brand that has dealt responsibly with the recall. If you want Dyson‑level suction without the Dyson‑level price, it’s a brilliant option.

My Thoughts

I love using the Tefal X-Force Flex 15.60 cordless stick vacuum so far. The flex technology is so handy for getting under the sofa and kitchen table, and the automatic suction power adjustment means I’m always using the right setting without having to switch the manual. The long-lasting battery life is also a plus!  Plus, it’s so quiet compared to our Dyson! I also really like how it looks. It’s sleek and will fit well in a modern household. The base is great as you can store it without having to drill into the wall.
