I don’t like to offer this information out to anybody, but I guess it’s important for context here. I’m almost 40. Which is honestly terrifying, as it doesn’t seem too long ago that I was writing articles, freaking out about turning 30. Where does the time go? Anyway, this blog post isn’t about my existential crisis triggered by time passing too quickly; it’s about my skin and hair. Which is dull and weak. Kind of how I feel, really, especially on a Monday morning when I’m trying to coax my SCHOOL AGED child out of bed.

So, what’s the fix? Drink water and get enough sleep? But who has time for that in this day and age? Though I do great on the drinking water part. Sleep, not so much. My creative brain is wide awake between 8 pm and midnight, so I’m often up late fixating on my latest hobby. Then, when I do get to bed, my brain likes to torture me by replaying back every single memory that brings me embarrassment and shame. It’s super fun. I mean, if you enjoy hating yourself. However, we’re trying not to be negative about ourselves here. So, sleep is out of the window – so what’s the next best thing?

Marine collagen. Collagen products have been around for a long time now, so it’s probably no surprise to you that they can support your body’s natural collagen production and help boost skin, hair, and nail health. So, let’s see if Absolute Collagen’s liquid sachets can make a huge difference to people like me (i.e., those of us who are reluctantly getting old).

Absolute Collagen

What is Absolute Collagen?

Absolute Collagen is a supplement that helps improve the appearance of your skin, hair, and nails. It comes in both liquid and powder forms, making it easy to add to your daily routine.

Key ingredients and formulation

It contains fish skin from marine sources, which supplies the main collagen in these supplements. This type is called hydrolysed marine collagen, and it absorbs well into the human body. Each daily dose gives you 8000mg of collagen peptides. There’s also vitamin C and amino acids in each sachet, which support natural production of collagen in connective tissues and also boosts energy levels.

The hyaluronic acid helps keep your skin’s hydration up, so the appearance of fine lines softens with regular use. There’s no added sugar or artificial nasties, so the taste of the product is mild.

Liquid or Powder

Absolute Collagen comes in both liquid and powder forms. The powerful anti-ageing liquid collagen supplement comes packed in easy-rip sachets, which are great if you want a simple daily routine. Just tear open the sachet of collagen, squeeze it out, and take it straight or stir it into warm water or your favourite hot drink. Some people even pop it into smoothies for an extra boost.

Their vegan collagen powders are another option for those who avoid animal products, such as bovine collagen peptides. You can mix the powder with water or juice each day to support natural collagen levels as part of a balanced diet. You can take the liquid version straight from the sachet if you need something on the go.

Benefits of Absolute Collagen

Improved skin elasticity and hydration

Collagen drinks can help your skin feel plumper and less dry. Clinical trials have shown that up to 90 per cent of participants experienced better skin hydration within a month. Maxine Laceby, the founder, say it keeps her own skin soft and glowy.

Stronger hair and nails

Some users report new hairs growing and stronger nails after taking Absolute Collagen daily. If you have fine hair, it can help thicken it out and make it less prone to breakage, so this is an easy way to support healthy hair!

Reduction in fine lines and wrinkles

Absolute Collagen helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles by improving elasticity and making it more hydrated, thanks to the marine collagen.

Reducing Joint Pain

Taking collagen can also help joint pain by boosting the repair of cartilage and its anti-inflammatory effects. It can also help with stiff joints.

How to Use Absolute Collagen

Absolute Collagen comes in two forms, liquid and powder. The recommended daily dosage varies slightly between them. For the liquid form, take one sachet each day. This provides a good amount of collagen to support skin, hair, and nails. For the powder version, mix one scoop with water or your favourite drink every day. Some people find it easy to add to smoothies or even bone broth for extra benefits.

Tips for incorporating into your routine

Adding Absolute Collagen to your daily routine is a must for consistent use so you see the results!

  1. Choose the right product for your lifestyle, either Liquid or Powder.
  2. Take it at the same time each day; this will help you stay consistent. I find morning works best as part of my skincare routine.
  3. Mix the Powder with your favourite drink, like water or a smoothie; this makes it easy to enjoy. If you prefer Liquid, you can drink it straight or mix it in.
  4. Keep the packaging where you can see it; this serves as a reminder to take your daily dose.
  5. Pair it with a healthy diet; eating fruits and veggies boosts your skin’s health, too.
  6. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day; hydration enhances skin elasticity and overall well-being.
  7. Monitor how you feel and look over time; some report visible improvements like fewer fine lines and stronger nails after consistent use.

My Views

So I’ve only just started taking the Absolute Collagen supplements, so it’s too early to tell if it’s having an impact yet. They sent me a box, but not enough to try it for three months! I’m a regular user of collagen, though. I’ve yet to find a liquid gel that tastes nice, and this is no exception. There’s no point pretending it’s delicious. It’s a collagen gel, and it tastes like one. I prefer the powder that can be easily mixed in coffee and other foods, but it’s nice to have the option on the go. I leave these in my dressing table so when I apply my moisturiser in the morning, I am reminded to take it. The hardest part of collagen for me is making it part of my already established routine, so this seems to work well!
