I love places like Lucky Days Cafe York. I’m not a snob about most things, but when it comes to coffee shops you will never find me agreeing to go to Costa or Starbucks. Especially in York, where there are so many unique tea rooms and cafes to be found.

I’ve walked past Lucky Days on High Petergate a thousand times. The shop window is full of their cakes and salads, looking delicious.
We went in for a coffee when it snowed and were seated in a little snug that had a small table for two. A few places in York have random rooms like this in their bars and cafes. I love it.
We were only there for a drink but decided to order some sweet potato wedges to share. We had a quick look at the menu and saw they offered breakfast and lunch with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. If I was to eat there, I would have gotten the selection of the 8 different salads for £8. It looked delicious. My biggest regret is not taking a photo of the food in the window, but there’s always next time.
For this post, it’s all about the cute decor…

the place looks really cute! xx
What a cute cafe!
Supporting independent shops is really important. I am a coffee snob and proud of it. I love delicious coffee made with the perfect amount of froth. Costa and Starbucks do have great coffee but independents if available will always be my first choice Lucy x
Such a cute place – I’ve always wondered why people would go to Costa in York!
