We recently went to Tick Tock Unlock Leeds. Firstly I just want to apologise for the not-fantastic images in this post – I wasn’t going to blog about it so didn’t take my camera. All the photos were taken on my trusty iPhone 6.
Tick Tock Escape Room
On Halloween, my old uni friends and I decided to have a reunion. We do this every so often as we don’t get the chance to see each other much!
One of the girls suggested we go to Tick Tock Unlock, which is an escape room in Leeds.
I’d never heard of an escape room before – but I’ve played the games on my phone. The ones where you have to look for clues to find various codes and figure out how to get out of the room.
I didn’t research much into it as I didn’t want to spoil it for myself. Don’t worry – I’m not going to give you any spoilers or clues on how to do it! I’ll just be giving you an idea of what it’s about – similar to the brief you’ll get before entering the room if you decide to go.

As it was Halloween, I wore my Halloween emoji top and drove to pick up my friend. We then had a terrible Uber taxi experience and got to the place just in time.
It was all decorated for Halloween, and the girl working there was dressed up.
We were given a brief to read which gives you a plot of the story and then we talked through what we had to do.
Basically, there are clues around the room and you have to find them. There are various padlocks and locked safes. Some have keys, some have number codes and some have letter codes. The game is to find the clues to find the right codes and escape the room within 60 minutes.
Obviously, due to health and safety, they can’t actually lock you in – the door you enter is always unlocked but closed in case you feel like you want to get out. But you need to escape through the exit door to win the game.
There is a screen in the room which counts down the time. Someone is watching what you’re doing on cameras, but don’t worry, it’s not recording. It’s just so they can type clues onto the screen if they feel like you’re getting stuck!

Being locked in the room was so much fun, the excitement when you find a clue or get a code right is amazing. We all got really into it and we managed to get out in 47 minutes – just 1 minute longer than the record!
The Best Escape Room in Leeds
When we came out, the girl working there said we did really well, we had only needed one clue and it’s the best one she had seen in months!
We all left the place on such a high! There are two puzzle rooms to do and we want to go back and do the other one again soon!

There are various escape rooms popping up across the country. The one we went to was Tick Tock Unlock. Have a look to see if there’s one near you and book it!
It really is an experience you’ll want to tell your friends and family about! The Tick Tock escape room is the best escape room Leeds!
Escape Room Update
We have been back since and it’s changed location. It’s also been completely redone. The original Tick Tock Leeds was like an office that had been decorated. The new one is completely themed and is so much better! We did an Alice in Wonderland one and it was decorated like you were there, inside Wonderland. It was amazing.
