When I went to The Body Shop Christmas launch event last November, one of the assistants colour matched me after I said I was looking for a foundation that wouldn’t look dry on my skin.
Foundation has a tendency to really cling to my dry patches and make my skin look quite flakey if I’m not careful – and I’m way too irresponsible to be careful.
I was told this would help that and was a moisturising foundation.
The Body Shop Moisture Foundation Review
It’s got light to medium coverage, is scent-free and has SPF 15.
The Body Shop Foundation Before & After
I’m now going to make you suffer with before and after photos.
You can see with my naked face, I have quite an uneven skin tone. I have scars on my chin that the camera doesn’t pick up so much, but you get the picture.
Now for the after photos. Wooo.
This is just with the foundation and no powder or blusher.
As you can see, The Body Shop foundation does make my skin tone even but it is a light coverage. It doesn’t really cover and scars of blemishes and I think it does look a little chalky, which was what I was wanting to avoid.
This Body Shop foundation is okay, but I’m not 100% sold on The Body Shop Moisture Foundation. I’ll happily use it until I’ve used it up but it’s not something I’ll bother with again. I might go for something that offers more coverage next time!
Hope you enjoyed my Body Shop foundation review.

Have never used make-up from the Body shop. Chalky foundation wouldn’t do it for me. Shame that. But, it does from the pictures look really lovely on you :)) xx
Thanks – I think I prefer the foundation I was using prior to this though, it’s a pity because I had high hopes!
Hey!
My skin sometimes gets dry patches during winter. Its so annoying when foundations make it look even worse.. anyway what I do is mix a little bit of a moisturiser in 🙂 it helps! Also i tried the kiko hydrating foundation..and didn’t have any problems!
Klaudia x
Ohh, I might try the kiko one next time!
I have try skin and always stick to using liquid foundation , totally get what you mean about it clingy to dry patches I hate that too… Foundation looks really great on you..

You’re right lovely, it seems to have done an OKAY job, have you tried the Lancome Tent Idole 24HR Foundation? It gives medium coverage (Matte) & it lasts for a long period of time!!!

No I’ve not… but aaahhh, Lancome, I love it but it sounds expensive. Don’t tempt me! Foundation lasts so long though, it’s totally worth it, right?
I had not use their makeup and it look soft, If you looking for soft and coverage Baremineral foundation and Naked. Have a great weekend doll
I will definitely try this on…
xx
Thank you so much for including before and after photos, I always feel a tiny sense of disappointment when I can’t see how it looks properly! I was actually thinking about buying this foundation so I thank you for this post, it was pretty helpful.
(On a completely unrelated topic, I found your blog about an hour ago and I’ve been reading it non stop since, it’s incredibly great, well done.)
Thanks – I like to include photos because there’s nothing worse than not seeing how it actually looks on, right?
To be honest I’m not a huge fan of Body Shop products. Their foundation to me doesn’t have much coverage and it’s very dewy and shiny… I also bought a bottle of their glitter with this cute puff squeeze for the glitter and it doesn’t last long at all! Has a weird smell too.
Regardless, I always go back there for their eyeshadows. Now them I do love x

I know what glitter you’re talking about, I had fun with that in the shop! I’ve never tried the shadows.
looks like light coverage foundation which is what I like these days …
Looking good dear
I haven’t been to The Body Shop in ages so I didn’t even realize that they offered foundation. It’s a shame that this one is chalky but at least you’ll know to avoid it next time.
Love this, I will have to try this!

I so need to get my hands on this! I love sheer coverage and you sold me when you said it doesn’t cling to dry patches. That has always been the biggest problem for me when it comes to foundations. And don’t you be silly about your before picture, I think you look great WITHOUT any makeup and I seriously mean that. xx

Thanks haha, I look just a bit dead, I think!
I use No7 foundation and it is pricey but it matches my skin really well and is creamy rather than chalky.

Wow, it done a real good job. I can’t use these things because I have super oily skin and I am yet to find a good one.. even the ones for “oily skin” lies so I am still on the hunt haha 😛

Surprised to hear you didn’t like this foundation. I’ve heard such good things about it from others. I’ve wanted to try it but I’m not sure now. x
It is always helpful to be colour matched otherwise it tends to be obvious you have foundation on. I have a BB cream from the body shop which I love and under my eyes I use wake me up by Rimmel Lucy x
Loved your review. I have seen this brand before, but haven’t actually tried it!

It looks great on you .Its something i would try

Shame it wasn’t so good for you, I find in general it’s really hard to find a good foundation. I’d recommend Bourjois Healthy Mix though! 🙂

I’ve been eyeing that one up!
Thanks for posting this. I’ve seen it before and wondered how it was. Great review

You’re beautiful!! If you’re looking for a full coverage foundation for dry skin, I recently bought some from Pur Minerals and love it!
but I have to tell you there is a difference although you wrote you don’t see it. I would recomend you foundation by Revlon.
If you are looking for a drugstore foundations I recommend Loreal true match to try 😉 xoxo
Salut ! Comme j’apprécie vraiment ton blog je me suis permis de te taguer dans un de mes articles pour le Liebster Award ici :
Viens y faire un tour, je serais curieuse de connaitre tes réponses ! Bye bye 🙂
I’m looking for a good foundation, too. Right now, I am using one from Clinique, but it’s just not quite right.
Love this!

Dry skin is horrible to fin a foundation for, when I had acne and used Quinoderm it let me so flaky I just went foundation free. Even with acne 🙁 Gemma and Miss Makeup Magpie has dry skin so maybe look through her blog for recommendations?

I just can’t do liquid foundations, my oily skin is just too slick for it to stick! I always end up looking ridiculously shiny and wicked witch ‘I’m meeeeeelting’. Not a good look to be honest! But now I’m getting this crap weather induced dry patches so my regular powder foundation is failing massively!
Foundation is a pain the ass. Good look in your quest a new one! I do like this Body Shop one on you, it has a light but natural coverage!
Sarah 🙂
Wah skin is a massive dick, right? Why can’t it just be all perfect and glowy?
ah, it sounds so good, shame it didn’t really work for you like you’d wanted it to. i’m the worst person in the world and don’t even use foundation, haha. xx
wow this foundation looks great! I have the opposite problem, foundation always looks really oily on my face and I can only really wear powder based foundations with a primer 🙁

I love Body Shop products. You look fabulous in the Moisture Foundation SPF 15. I have a lot to learn about skin care products and makeup. I’ll keep Body Shop in mind. I understand e.l.f. EyesLipsFace is coming out with some new products. I like that their products are vegan, cruelty free and Peta approved.
