Ad. Right, confession time: I’m one of those people who only owns one pair of slippers at a time. I invest in quality ones, wear them until they’re falling apart, then replace them with another decent pair. My current slippers have reached that sad stage where the soles are wearing through and they’re getting a bit manky, so when Simba reached out asking if I wanted to try their Rok Slipper, the timing was perfect.
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know I’m a bit of a Simba fan. I’ve already reviewed their Hybrid Mattress for my son’s room and their duvet and pillows, so I was curious to see if their slippers would live up to the same standard. Simba kindly sent me a pair in beige and a pair for my husband in grey, which meant we could both test them properly

What Are The Simba Rok Slippers?
The Rok Slippers are part of Simba’s wellness range, designed to bring the benefits of reflexology into your everyday life. They come in both men’s and women’s versions, with a classic moccasin style that’s smart enough for popping to the shops but cosy enough for lounging at home.
The standout feature? Nine gel-filled pressure points built into the footbed, each one positioned to correspond with different parts of your body. It’s based on the ancient Chinese practice of reflexology, which suggests that massaging specific points on your feet can help with everything from stress relief to better circulation.
They’re priced at £89, which isn’t cheap for slippers. But if you’re spending proper money, you want to know they’re worth it, right?
First Impressions: Unboxing and Build Quality
When they arrived, the first thing I noticed was how solid they felt. These aren’t your flimsy supermarket slippers that fall apart after three weeks. The leather moccasin design feels premium, with a proper weight to it.
I got the beige colour and my husband got grey. Both colours are really lovely – the beige is a perfect neutral tone that goes with everything, and the grey has a sophisticated, classic look. The stitching looks neat, the leather feels soft but durable, and the overall construction screams quality. They’ve got that new leather smell, which some people love, and others find a bit strong. I didn’t really notice it, it faded after a day or two anyway.
Sizing is worth mentioning: Simba recommends sizing up if you’re between sizes, as they fit small. I followed their advice and I’m glad I did. They were snug at first but have loosened up nicely with wear. My husband found the same – his were tight initially but are now spot on. I’m a 4.5, so I got a 5; my husband is an 11, so I got him a 12.

The Reflexology Technology: Does It Actually Work?
Right, let’s talk about the main selling point – the reflexology tech.
The footbed has nine distinct raised points, each filled with a gel that provides gentle pressure as you walk. I was sceptical at first. Would I even feel them? Would they be uncomfortable?
The answer is yes, you do feel them, but in a good way. It’s not like walking on rocks or anything harsh. Instead, it’s more like a gentle massage with each step. The first time I wore them, I noticed it straight away – there’s a subtle but definite sensation of the gel points cushioning and pressing against different parts of my foot.
After wearing them for a few days, I genuinely think there’s something to it. My feet feel less achy at the end of the day. I work from home, so I’m on my feet a bit – up and down the stairs, moving between rooms, general pottering about. These have made a noticeable difference to how my feet feel by evening. My husband’s noticed the same thing, especially after he’s been standing all day at work.
Whether it’s proper reflexology or just really good cushioning, I can’t say for certain. But the effect is the same – our feet feel better, and that’s what matters.
Comfort and Everyday Wear
These slippers do require a bit of breaking in! But comfort-wise, these are brilliant. The leather upper moulds to your foot over time, getting more comfortable with each wear. The cork-effect midsole gives them a bit of bounce, while the rubber outsole means they’re durable enough for both indoor and outdoor use (though I personally wouldn’t wear slippers outside – we’ll get to that in a minute).
I’ve worn them all day whilst working from home, and they’re comfortable for long periods. The 25cm depth is ideal – they’re not too chunky, so they’re easy to slip on and off, but they’ve got enough structure to provide proper support. I’ve got dodgy arches, and I don’t get that foot fatigue I sometimes get with flat slippers.
Temperature control is another win. The leather and Merino wool materials seem to regulate temperature really well. My feet don’t get sweaty (which can happen with fluffy slippers), but they stay warm when it’s cold. That balance is tricky to get right, but Simba’s nailed it.
Indoor vs Outdoor Use
One thing worth mentioning is that the Rok Slippers are designed to be worn both indoors and outdoors. The rubber sole means they’re technically suitable for popping outside, and the moccasin style looks smart enough that you wouldn’t look daft.
That said, I’m firmly in the “slippers are for indoors only” camp. I just can’t bring myself to wear slippers outside, even if they’re designed for it. It feels wrong! My husband’s the same – we both prefer to keep our slippers as indoor footwear and put proper shoes on if we’re going outside, even just to the bins.
But if you’re someone who likes the convenience of being able to nip outside in your slippers, these would be perfect for that. The durable sole and smart design mean you absolutely could wear them for quick outdoor tasks without feeling silly or worrying about damaging them. That versatility is definitely a selling point, even if it’s not something I personally use.

Styling: Do They Look Good?
Let’s be honest, most slippers are hideous. But the Rok Slippers actually look decent. The moccasin style is classic and understated, and the leather finish gives them a sophisticated look.
The beige colour goes with everything – I live in dresses, and they work perfectly whether I’m in a cosy knit dress for working from home or my pyjamas. The grey ones my husband has are equally versatile and look smart with whatever he’s wearing.
I’ve worn them with dresses (obviously), leggings, and my dressing gown. They just work. The leather ages nicely too – they’re starting to develop a bit of character with wear, which I actually quite like. They’re the kind of slippers you wouldn’t mind being seen in if someone pops round unexpectedly.
The Downsides
No product is perfect, so let’s talk about what could be better.
First, the price. £89 is a lot for slippers, plain and simple. I get that they’re well-made and have the reflexology tech, but it’s still a significant investment. If you’re used to picking up slippers for a tenner from Primark, this will feel steep.
Second, they take a bit of breaking in. The first few wears were slightly uncomfortable because the leather was stiff. Nothing painful, just that new-shoe feeling. After about a week of regular wear, they softened up and became much more comfortable.
Third, care and maintenance. Being leather, they need a bit more attention than your average slipper. You can’t just chuck them in the washing machine. Simba recommends cleaning them with a mild soap solution and letting them dry naturally. It’s not difficult, but it’s something to be aware of.
Although these are perfect for summer, I would prefer some kind of boot style one for the winter, as I like my feet to feel cosy! My current slippers are super soft and fluffy and cover my foot fully, which is great in winter, but I prefer the Simba slippers for warmer months.
Finally, the reflexology points might not be for everyone. If you have very sensitive feet or certain foot conditions, the pressure points could be uncomfortable. There’s no trial period (unlike Simba’s mattresses), so you’re committing to them when you buy.

Who Are These Slippers For?
The Rok Slippers are ideal if you:
- Spend a lot of time on your feet and need proper support
- Like the idea of reflexology and wellness features
- Need something versatile for indoor and light outdoor use
- Prefer a classic, sophisticated style over novelty designs
- Have the budget to invest in quality footwear
They might not be right if you:
- Want the cheapest option available
- Prefer very soft, fluffy slippers
- Don’t want to spend time breaking them in
- Have very sensitive feet that might not suit the pressure points
- Want a boot style slipper that keeps your feet extra toasty.
Comparing to Other Premium Slippers
At £89, the Rok Slippers sit in the premium category. So how do they stack up against other high-end options?
Compared to UGGs (which can cost similar or more), the Rok Slippers offer better support and the reflexology benefits. UGGs are softer and fluffier, but the Roks are more structured and suitable for outdoor wear.
Against brands like Mahabis or Glerups (also in the £70-100 range), the Rok Slippers stand out for their wellness focus. Mahabis are great for style, and Glerups are brilliant for breathability, but neither offer the same kind of foot support and massage benefits.
The reflexology element genuinely sets them apart from most other premium slippers. You’re not just paying for materials and brand name – you’re getting actual functional benefits.
My Verdict: Are They Worth £89?
After wearing these for a few weeks, I’d say yes, they’re worth the money – but with caveats.
If you’re someone who takes foot health seriously, spends time on your feet, or suffers from foot pain, the £89 price tag becomes easier to justify. The reflexology benefits are real (or at least, the effect on your feet is real), and the quality means these should last for years.
If you’re just after a basic pair of slippers to shuffle around the house in, there are cheaper options that’ll do the job. But if you want something that’s well-made, looks good, and actually offers health benefits, the Rok Slippers tick all those boxes.
I’ve found myself reaching for these over my old slippers every single time. They’ve become my go-to footwear at home, which is the real test, isn’t it? If something sits in the cupboard unused, it’s not worth any price. My husband’s the same with his grey pair – they’ve completely replaced his old ones.
As someone who only owns one pair of slippers at a time and invests in quality, these fit my criteria perfectly. They’re well-made, comfortable, and should last me a good few years before I need to replace them again.
The Pros
- Genuinely comfortable reflexology footbed that helps with foot fatigue
- High-quality leather construction that’ll last for years
- Smart moccasin style that looks good
- Good temperature regulation – warm without being sweaty
- Versatile enough for indoor and outdoor use (even if I won’t wear them outside!)
- Excellent grip on various surfaces

Where To Buy
You can get the Rok Slippers directly from Simba’s website. They’re available in men’s sizes UK 7-12 and women’s sizes UK 3-8. As I mentioned, they recommend sizing up if you’re between sizes.
Simba occasionally runs promotions, so it’s worth keeping an eye out for deals. They also offer free next-day delivery if you order before 1pm, which is handy.
Final Thoughts
The Rok Slipper from Simba is a proper investment piece. Yes, £89 is a lot for slippers, but the quality, comfort, and reflexology benefits justify the price if you’re serious about foot health and want something that’ll last.
They’ve become my daily wear, and I can genuinely feel the difference in how my feet feel at the end of the day. The classic moccasin style means they look good too, which is a bonus when you’re living in them. My husband’s equally impressed with his grey pair.
As someone who only owns one pair of slippers at a time and needs them to be worth the investment, these tick all my boxes. They’re comfortable, well-made, and actually do what they claim to do. My old slippers are heading straight to the bin – these are staying.
Have you tried the Rok Slippers or any other reflexology footwear? I’d love to hear what you think!
Disclosure: These slippers were gifted to me by Simba for review purposes. All opinions are my own and honest. If you’ve read my other Simba reviews, you’ll know I’m not shy about pointing out flaws – these genuinely are as good as I’ve said.
