When my parents came down to York for my birthday at the start of July, we went to Loch Fyne seafood restaurant in York. This is actually the 3rd time I’ve been here. Probably the most times I’ve been to one restaurant in York. I’ve never been disappointed by this place.

The History of Loch Fyne
Loch Fyne is a seafood restaurant chain that was founded in the 1970s by Johnny Noble and Andy Lane, who started their first oyster farm on the shores of the loch. With a passion for fresh, sustainably sourced seafood, the business quickly grew to include a smokehouse and an oyster bar on the shore of the loch. As their reputation for quality and flavour grew, so did the number of sites. Today, the golden shell mussels served in Loch Fyne restaurants are supplied by Loch Fyne Oysters Ltd, the first blue mussel producer in the world to receive certification against the ASC bivalve standard. Loch Fyne Seafood Review
For my starter I had scallops. If I ever see scallops on the starter menu, I always have to get them. I love them and these were delicious – cooked with chorizo and fresh herbs.
For main, I picked a sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce. This is the second time I’ve had this here. I know it’s a bit pointless going to a fish restaurant and having steak but it’s so good! They do have a few ‘from the land’ dishes – meaning if you’re doing with someone who isn’t a fish fan, they won’t be left out!
