Green Frog was somewhere we were eager to go as upon reading reviews of our hotel on Trip Advisor, lots of people raved about Green Frog.
We went the first night and I had the olives as a started and grilled king prawns. The prawns were lovely, but hard to get to as you have to take them out of the shells. The olives were also really nice – I’ve found most places in Zante serve black olives, I don’t like them nearly as much as green so they’ve been the best I’ve had so far.
My sister-in-law had squid and loved it. A few people also had lamb shank which looked delicious and I’m a bit gutted I didn’t get it!
We all enjoyed ourself and couldn’t wait to come again, which we did do a few days later.
We were sad to find out that the lamb shank was on a special, a few of us wanted that and couldn’t get it. Also the waiter couldn’t tell us when it would be on next as we wanted to come back especially for it. Apparently the manager picks them randomly. That nights special was salmon, which Mum had. You got twice as much salmon as you would in the UK, but she said it wasn’t seasoned well.
Feeling adventurous, I tried the octopus.
It didn’t taste of much, to be honest. I guess it’s how you season it. It was chew and bland. I wish I had gotten the pizza instead as that was lovely.
I was also ill the next day, not sure if it was the food or a bug but I’m really put off octopus now!
Another thing that was annoying is that we asked for the bill and it took so long to come that we ended up having to go to the bar asking getting it ourself.
First time going was excellent, second time was a totally different experience. Sad because we were looking forward to the second time loads!
