ad. Spring has finally arrived, and I’m feeling that familiar urge to lighten things up in our primary bedroom. While our sleeping space is still very much a work in progress (we’ve been in this house just over a year, and there’s so much left to do), I’ve found that small changes can make a huge difference without requiring a full reno mode commitment.
I’ve partnered with Bedsure to show you some easy ideas for refreshing your bedroom this season. Think soft furnishings, natural elements, and those simple ways to welcome the new season without breaking the bank.

Why Spring is the Perfect Time for a Bedroom Update
There’s something about the first thing you notice when spring arrives. For me, it’s that shift in light and the fresh air coming through the windows that makes me want to reset my space. It’s prime time for swapping out heavy curtains for lighter fabrics, bringing in spring colours, and creating a room that feels as fresh as the season itself.
I’m not talking about redecorating the entire bedroom. These are quick spring cleaning tasks paired with styling tweaks that create big impact without the faff and expense.

Starting with Fresh Bed Linen
For me, the easiest ways to transform a sleeping space start with what’s actually on the bed. I’ve been testing the Bedsure Seersucker Duvet Cover Set in a gorgeous neutral beige, and the texture immediately caught my eye. The subtle square pattern brings depth to the bed without being too busy, and I love how the seersucker fabric adds visual interest.
Full transparency: while I absolutely love the look of this duvet cover, I found the 100% polyester fabric a bit warm for my personal preference; I tend to sleep better in cotton. That said, the breathable fabrics are designed to encourage airflow, and the reverse side has this buttery-soft brushed fabric that’s really gentle on skin. The zipper closure is also a practical touch that makes changing bed linen much easier, but I didn’t really like the duvet’s overall feel. For the price, you’re not going to get 100% cotton. We usually spend a lot more on our cotton duvets.
I sized up to a superking duvet cover (we like a bigger duvet on our king-size beds), and it looks beautifully draped.
Underneath, I’m using the Bedsure 100% Cotton Jersey Fitted Sheet. It’s got soft, stretchy cotton jersey fabric. I got the king-size, though I’ll mention it ran slightly generous on our mattress. The deep pocket design is meant to accommodate mattresses up to 40cm thick, so it’s great for thicker mattresses. Ours is about 36cm, and it still had a few wrinkles, so I wouldn’t recommend this for thinner mattresses, or you’ll be left with a lot of excess fabric on the bed, rather than a fitted, smooth look

The Power of Layering
Layering is a great way to add different textures and create that cosy-but-not-heavy vibe spring bedrooms need. Instead of the beige blanket that came with my Bedsure set (which would have been gorgeous if our room wasn’t fighting against green carpet!), I draped a green throw across the bed to tie in with our existing colour scheme.
But I have to tell you about the Bedsure Cloud Bubble Blanket – it’s ridiculously soft. The bubble texture brings this modern design element that works beautifully as a focal point, whether you fold it at the end of the bed or drape it over your sofa. It’s one of those smaller pieces that makes the space feel more considered. Available in pink, white, and grey, this would be perfect for guest bedrooms, too or as a sweet touch in kids’ bedrooms.
Styling with Natural Elements
One of my favourite spring bedroom decor tricks is bringing nature indoors. On both bedside tables, I’ve placed an arrangement of fresh flowers (well, fake ones that look real, grocery store bouquets are brilliant, but these last longer!). I’ve also got a large pothos plant on our chest of drawers that’s been thriving, plus a few house plants dotted around.
These bedroom plants are part of that biophilic design approach that makes a room feel more alive. Even small arrangements go a long way toward creating that connection to nature’s work outside your window. And as you know, I love my plants, both in the house and outdoors!

Creating Vignettes That Tell a Story
I’m a big believer that your bedroom should feel personal. On my bedside tables, I’ve styled a few key pieces: candles in trays (the flickering light on a spring evening is magical), a stack of favourite books I’m actually reading (currently Fern Cotton’s latest release!), and those matching prints leaning casually against the wall. Above the bed, there’s a small picture, though I’m planning to replace it with something larger.
I’ve actually ordered a blank watercolour canvas because I’m going to paint something myself. I’m thinking light colours with green, maybe some whimsical floral patterns to bring that cottage core feel I’m after. The wall behind our bed is crying out for wallpaper (something botanical and dreamy), but that’s next week’s problem.
On the chest of drawers, I’ve created another little moment with a small mirror, photo frames, prints, and trinkets. These spots make the room look pulled together, even when the rest of the space is still evolving.
Small Changes, Big Difference
After years of trying to figure out my own personal taste in decor, I’ve discovered that you don’t need to wait until everything is perfect to make your bedroom feel good. We’re still dealing with green carpet that I’m desperate to replace with something neutral. We’ve covered the worst of it with a big rug, but it works for now.
The power of paint is real – a fresh coat on skirting boards or an accent wall can create a huge difference. Swapping out throw pillows, adding colours through accessories, or even just rearranging furniture can make your room look completely different.
My Spring Bedroom Refresh Checklist
Here are the quickest ways I’m updating our space this season:
- Swap to lighter bed linen and linen duvet covers
- Add texture through blankets and soft furnishings
- Bring in natural elements (house plants, fresh flowers, wooden accents)
- Layer different textures for depth
- Style bedside tables with meaning (books, candles, personal items)
- Let in fresh air and natural light
- Create small vignettes that catch the eye
- Use pastel hues and spring colours through accessories
The Right Place to Invest
If you’re working with a budget, focus on pieces that touch your skin: a fresh set of crisp white sheets, quality bed linen, or that perfect duvet cover. The Bedsure spring collection offers accessible price points – the fitted sheet starts at £18.49 (currently 15% off at £15.72), the seersucker duvet set from £16.99, and the Cloud Bubble Blanket from £17.99 (discounted to £15.29).

Final Thoughts
Spring is this magical time of year when everything feels possible. You don’t need design expertise or a big bundle of cash to create a sleeping space that feels refreshed and ready for the new season. Whether you’re tackling your primary bedroom, sprucing up guest bedrooms, or just looking for that perfect opportunity to switch things up, start small.
Sometimes the best spring bedroom décor idea is the simplest one: open the windows, change the bed linen, add something green and living, and just enjoy the space as it is right now – green carpet and all.
