When I ran out of foundation, I decided to go against my usual brand of Rimmel and give Revlon a try. I won’t lie, I was highly influenced by the free gift you get when you spend £15 or more on Revlon cosmetics over Christmas – a box of 4 full sized products. But this post isn’t about the freebie, so enough about that.
It’s a buildable and blendable formula to give medium to full coverage. I picked up the combination/oily version. It’s also available in normal to dry.
The one for combination or oily skin is an oil-free formula to help control shine for a perfect velvet-matte finish. The one for normal or dry skin has a hydrating formula to keep your skin moisturised and has a satin finished.
I usually would have gone for normal or dry, but as I have an oily t-zone, I went for the combination or oily one.
The colour I picked is sadly a bit too light for me, but it gives me the chance to use some darkening drops I got at an event a few months ago!
I wouldn’t class it as full coverage at all, though. It’s more light-medium. Although I don’t build it up too much. I do love the pump bottle – always a must for me with foundation and it had a staying power of around 12 hours.
Overall, it’s a great foundation, I’m just a bit bummed out that the shade was a little too light for me.
Have you tried this foundation before? What do you think of it?
Since you liked this foundation maybe you could get a slightly darker shade for a better match next time. I haven’t used Revlon foundation in ages or foundation for that matter LOL ;p
Happy Christmas to you Corinne!
The Colorstay I used to buy was full coverage! Maybe they’ve changed the formula, because if I used more than a few drops, it turned masklike on me. That was how heavy-duty it was.
