Absolute New York is a new brand to me. When the buttery lip clean arrived in my Glossybox, I was expecting something similar to the LASplash lipsticks.

It looks similar in packaging and colour. This Velvet Lippie brags about it’s pigmentation as well as it’s ability to glide over the lips then dry to a matte finish.
I’m not sure if you can tell by the tone of this review – butttttttttttt it’s not great.
The colour, I love. But the application is not something I would describe as ‘glides on’.
It’s more that it smears on to an uneven, blobby mess then you have to pat it down to get rid of the streaks.
The shade I have, which is in Rumba, applies lighter than it looks in the tube.
To be honest, I feel a bit meh about this. I’d avoid if if I were you. If you’re looking for a terracotta lipstick, then look somewhere else.
There’s much better lip products out there than this. As you can see from the photos below, there’s hardly anything on my lips!

I got this product as well, by itself it’s a bit meh but I use it with other lip paints and it works wonders.
I don’t mind mine! It doesn’t go patchy on me but the texture is nothing special. It’s definitely no NYX Liquid Suede or Matte Lip Cream! Xx
