I do love motivational quotes! Lately, more than usual.

I’ve been Pinteresting a lot of inspiring quotes lately and wanted to share with you all my favourite ones.

motivational quote: Never stop being your best just because someone doesn't give you credit

My top 5 motivational quotes

Never stop being your best just because someone doesn’t give you credit.

I am the type of person who thrives on praise and quivers under criticism. This means that if I work hard but get no recognition, I can often feel like I’ve wasted my time. If I’m given some negative feedback, you’ve lost my buying and I’m likely to take my ball and go the fuck home.

It’s not the way I wish to be, I should always put my all into everything, even if nobody can see what I’ve achieved.

Your value doesn’t decrease based on someones inability to see your worth.

It can be interesting but also scary to see what can happen if we let other peoples feelings towards us get to us. Especially if we think highly of someone. It can be hard to forget that not everyone will realise how awesome we are. It doesn’t mean we’re not worth something.

What other people think is none of my business.

When you think too much about what other people think, you can drive yourself insane. You cannot change what people think or feel. It’s a waste of energy to try and change the mindset of someone. Being your best you is what you should aim for. No matter what anyone else thinks.

We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful what we pretend to be – Kurt Vonnegut.

I love this quote so much! A lot of people see themselves as someone who puts on an act, acts happier, confident and outgoing in front of people. I always wonder where the line is between acting who you are and being who you are. Surely if you can act confident, then you are confident? I think we are more of the person we pretend to be than we think.

My only regret is that I didn't tell enough people to fuck off. motivational quote

My only regret is that I didn’t tell enough people to fuck off.

Oh man. If I could go back to school.

  • The boy who used to sit in front of me in Geography and call me ugly EVERY SINGLE DAY for two years.
  • The girls would laugh at me and make a joke out of me constantly.
  • That girl that emotionally manipulated me, controlled me and made my life a misery.
  • The group of friends that were not really friends.
  • That girl that called me fat.
  • That boy who told me to ‘go home Corinne, because everyone hates you, nobody wants you here’.

Oh man oh man, what a field day I would have.

  1. Those people sound so mean. They’re not worth it, You’re way better than that Corinne. Much love. I can’t work under harsh criticism either.I just feel more bad about myself. I like being praised and definitely find it a great encouragement. I’m a huge fan of the 2nd quote. I always remember that one. I’m quite a quote person as well and I find them to be great motivators!! xx

    1. Thanks Niki! I wouldn’t have time for those people know, unfortunately you’ve got to learn some lessons the hard way!

  2. I love the one about other people’s thoughts not being our business – it is literally impossible to control how other people think about us but we spend so much time trying!!!

  3. I am exactly the same as you regarding the first one, I am in constant need of approval from others. It needs to stop ASAP!

  4. I really like this post, it is different and really thought provoking. It is too easy to spend time thinking and worrying what other people think.

I have been meaning to try out pinterest!

  5. The Kurt Vonnegut quote is a favourite of mine too, he’s my favourite author also. Great quotes and I totally agree about telling more people to fuck off haha I’d also have a field day! xx

  6. I feel bad that you remember exactly all those terrible things people said to you! I mean, maybe I just have a remarkable gift for blocking out that kind of thing…and I LOVE telling people to fuck off! It’s so liberating!

  7. I honestly couldn’t agree with these quotes any more, especially the last one. You are worth more than other unhappy people’s bitter remarks about you, by far.

  9. these are lovely quotes! as you probably know i love a good quote and don’t think i could pick five favourites, let alone one! also, everyone at your school sounds to have been a complete arse! xx

  10. I love quotes so much. I wish I could tell everyone to fuck off when they try to mess up with me, I wish!

  11. I love a couple of good quotes me, I was not expecting the last one though, which is without a doubt my favourite. Life is too short to grit your teeth and ignore people, sometimes I think it might be good to say fuck off to those exact people who were unbelievably nasty (am I a bad influence?! haha). Thank you for sharing these 🙂

    1. Hahaha yeah, it sometimes does make you feel fantastic to take control and really show how you feel to people that deserve it 😀

  12. I love all of these quotes!!! I definitely relate to all of them.. though the last one, I don’t tell people to fck off.. I just cut them off completely..

  13. Sometimes when I’m feeling a little down I love reading quotes, there are so true and positive that they really motivate me 🙂
    Thanks for sharing these ones!

    Seeyou Corinne xx

  14. Some corkers, I like that your value does not decrease because someone does not see it. I really like the only person standing in your way of what you can achieve is you. Self doubt and what others think is the ruin of everything. I would love to be able travel back in time and tell a few select people to f**** off Lucy x

  15. I’m so in love with quotes and these are some good ones ! There are people who are so mean and i wonder how they can do that…how they can speak with this way to others ^_^

  16. It’s amazing how inspiring quotes can be. I love that you’ve explained their worth after having shared them. “We are who we pretend to be, so we must be careful what we pretend to be” is my favourite because it’s so true. It’s also motivating because it shows that you can be whatever you want. Just fake it to make it. A lot of these quotes have to do with not letting what others think get to you, and I think that self worth and blocking people out is an important lesson to learn.

    The Life of Little Me

  17. I love these quotes! I can totally relate to the first one. I also thrive on praises and I often get discouraged when I feel like my work wasn’t “recognized”. I’ve learned to change my outlook lately, though <3 Only positivity from here on out!

  18. If all we did was to please others, it would be like we never existed.

If we value other people options, it doesn’t mean we should agree with them…thank you for having an opinion, but I’m a human being and I have my own- that should be our line of thinking.

I absolutely love all of these quotes.

Sometimes we have to keep working on something even if nobody ever gets it or nobody ever appreciates it. Our efforts and ever our work might go totally unnoticed but what matters is that in our heart we are confident that we have it all we got.

  19. I can’t believe people can be so ugly. People are more defined by what they say than what they look like: Go figure. They all suck!

You are beautiful, talented, and inspirational. Keep writing and laughing off all the h8ers!

I love quotes – I have a book where I write down all of the best ones I’ve collected, and that includes bloggers too! I think the one about telling more people to ‘eff off’ should go in it too 😉

    xx

  20. I really love quotes, I have so many favourites!! I would change a lot if I could go back to school, I would have stopped being such a wallflower and not telling people off for treating me like crap. I think I would have been a lot happier and had more fun!! Xx

  21. I like the second one. It’s easier to get demotivated when someone doesn’t appreciate the work we do, but we have to get over it. Some other people do appreciate and that’s important.

My favourite quote is: “Life is short, eat dessert first”. I like it so much that I have it on my kitchen wall 🙂

  22. I love those. I know tonnes of good quotes, but as per usual I can’t think of any now. I’d adding these to my list though, thank you for sharing them 🙂

  23. I actually saw that first quote last week, and it really spoke to me. I needed that extra push to keep going 🙂

  24. Quotes that contain the word fuck an infinitely better than those that don’t. I wish I’d learnt to utilise the word fuck earlier in life.

  25. Mine is probably the one from A Cinderella Story. Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.
