This is a post I wanted to do last month, but ya know, going to Florida got in the way! When you think of fruit dipped in chocolate, you’ll probably think of strawberries, right? Well, have I got news for you. Almost any fruit can be dipped in chocolate!
I discovered this when I had a chocolate covered banana on holiday. I then thought about how nice grapes, raspberries and blackberries would taste covered in chocolate too! This would be a great idea for a party, a light snack or even something fun to do with your children.
I was sent some Dr Oetkers Fine Cooking chocolate in my April Degustabox, a milk and a dark version. You can use either for the dipped fruit, but I picked milk chocolate.
Here is what you’ll need:
Fruit – I had strawberries, blackberries, raspberries and grapes.
Wooden skewers.
Cooking Chocolate (I used around 75g, depends on how much fruit you use)
A glass or container.
Decorations – I used edible glitter, sugar stars and popping candy.
Step 1-
Put the fruit on the skewers.
You may need to cut some of the large pieces in half, otherwise the weight will cause them to fall off when you dip the fruit in the chocolate.
Step 2 –
Set the decorations out on a plate.
You can use any flat surface for this – it just makes it easier if they are already set out so you can just dip the chocolate covered fruit in later.
Step 3-
Melt the chocolate.
Break the chocolate into pieces. Then boil a pan of hot water, place the bowl with the chocolate on top of the pan so it melts without burning.
Step 4 –
Dip the fruit in the chocolate and decorations.
As soon as the chocolate is melted, simply grab a skewer, dip the fruit in the chocolate, dip it in the decorations and then set in your container, then repeat.
So, there you have it! A perfect party food idea – fruit dipped in chocolate!
What fruit would you like to try smothered in chocolate?
yummy!
It’s such a cute and easy idea. I remember one of my friend had those as snacks in his birthday party among other things but these were a total win! 😀 xxx
This is such a good idea! Have never seen it before! Love it!
I love chocolate dipped fruit. Bananas, strawberries and grapes are my favourite. I’m way too lazy to melt chocolate on a day to day basis though so just dip it in some nutella 🙂
