AD| If you’re also a blogger, then you already know what a wonderful feeling it is to share your life and passion with the world.
But you’re also aware that there’s a lot of competition out there – after all, you have millions of blogs to compete against for audience attention.
But if you’re ready to turn your blog into a profitable profession, check out these five fantastic tips for perfecting your craft and living your best blogger life.

1. Pick Your Platform
Choosing the right platform is one of the most important early decisions you will make for your blog – you want one that’s easy to use and works for you. Never rush the choice, as it can be a hassle to change later down the line.
WordPress is one of the best tools for blogging, allowing users to have complete control over their site. Its popularity speaks volumes about how valuable it is as one of the preferred platforms among bloggers, seeing millions of posts published every day.
2. Quality Over Quantity
You might have heard that word counts count in the blogging community. Perhaps you’ve read advice posts that tell you that your own posts should be 1000, 2000 or 5000 words.
Whatever you’ve heard about word counts, forget it. There’s no good stretching content just to meet set goals. Instead, focus on making quality posts, if they’re shorter, then they’re shorter!
The same goes for the frequency of posting. Only post if you have something to say – otherwise, you run the risk of your readers losing interest.
3. Be Smart with SEO
If you want to boost your brand and your readership, start implementing search engine optimisation into your content.
SEO is one of the best tools you can use to grow valuable traffic to your site, through targeting for keywords and enhancing user experience, but getting to grips with it can be tricky when you start out.
Don’t worry, there’s plenty of help out there to get you on the right track. For example, you could seek advice from an expert agency such as Maratopia Digital Marketing. They’ll be more than happy to help you boost your Google rankings and build your blog into something your followers will love.
4. Never Skip the Edit
You should never post anything to your blog that hasn’t been edited first.
Don’t rush to edit as soon as you’ve finished writing, either. Instead, leave it for a day or two and then go back to it – you’ll feel like you’re wearing fresh eyes!
If spelling and grammar aren’t your strong suit, then use a service such as Grammarly to check any errors that might have slipped you by.
5. Don’t Shy Away from Social Media
Social media is a great way for you to keep in contact with your followers and build up a relationship with them. Most platforms have a direct messaging service that will allow them to reach out to you and ask questions.
Social media is also a fantastic way to get your content in front of new audiences!

I agree with you about quality over quantity when it comes to blog post length. You want to have something to say and not just ramble on for the sake of meeting some sort of arbitrary word count!
When I first started my blog, I would try to write 2-3 posts a week! Which is honestly insane. They weren’t the best quality, and were honestly pretty cringe. Now, I still try to write 2 posts a week, one that’s more SEO friendly, and one that’s more a personal breakdown of my week! Not only do I have much more fun with my blog now, but usually my posts are things that I’m pretty proud of. Great post xxx
