AD| How many photos do you have on your mobile phone? I have about 70,000 on mine. My phone holds every photo I’ve taken since about 2010. Which is great – I love having all my memories at my fingertips but it’s a bit chaotic! Unless I know the date a certain photo has been taken, it’s like finding a needle in a haystack!

When Leo was born, we said we would make an effort to print off more photos of him to have physical copies. This is where Once Upon comes in. Once Upon lets, you create stunning photo books right from your phone. They make the perfect coffee table books or memory books for children.
I’m getting married in April next year and I am seriously considering getting all my favourite wedding photos printed out into one of these books so I can keep my more personal, intimate, phone snapshots together as well as those that other people take, rather than just the staged photos by a photographer.
Once Upon is a Scandinavian company that believes you should remember every day as well as parties. It’s about celebrating the daily life or moments that may have been forgotten. Basically, any event or time in your life that you want to remember can be displayed beautifully in one of these photo books so you can flick through time and time again. No matter how big or small.

How to create your photo book in Once Upon
Create your photo book by using the app available in both the App Store and Google play store. It’s so simple to do, I created mine in about 30 minutes while Leo was napping.
The hardest part is selecting the photos you want!
Here are the steps:
- Download the Once Upon App
- Create a new book
- Give it a title and cover image
- Select your photos (sorted into months for you)
- Change the layout
- Add up to 100 pages
- Orde your book when you are happy with it
You don’t have to do it all at once, you can create a few pages and save it, then come back later to the rest. Perfect if you want to spend a bit more time deciding what you want to put in your book!
Leo’s photo book from Once Upon
I made a book for him that documents his first year. It’s got a page for each month, then additional pages for things like holidays, his first Christmas and some photos of us as a family.

I picked images that are personal to us, there are a few posed pictures but a lot are photos I’ve taken while at home when he was being cute, or when he was sleeping peacefully.
Leo loves looking at his book. He points to himself, smiles and claps. He’s recently started enjoying books so I’ve been so keen to get him reading and looking at pictures.
I opted for the silk matte finish and I love it so much, it’s so much nicer than a typical photo gloss. The paper is thick and of great quality and as you can see from my images, the photos are beautiful!
I really want to keep this tradition alive and make him a photo book every year. It’s such a lovely gift and I think it would be wonderful to put in his Christmas Eve box. We can then look through it right before he goes to bed, a great time to reflect on what a lovely year we’ve had and everything he’s achieved! I can’t think of a more meaningful gift than that.
If you want to get your own photo book from Once Upon, you can get 25% off with my discount code corinne25 valid until 28th November 2021.
This is a great idea & I feel you because I have 100s of pictures of my daughter on my phone. Several years ago, I did make a photo book of my daughter for my mother, but it would be nice to do an updated one.
One of my goals for the coming year is to finally put the photos from my phone into an album. I really want to do one for my daughter, did one for her first birthday and she loves looking back on it. Thank you for sharing x
This is such a great idea, we make a photo book of each year so we can look back and see what we did around new year but adding it to a Christmas box is such a cute idea
I love this! Such a good idea, especially since everyone keeps their photos stored on their phones. So nice to have a physical copy x
Great post. I love the idea of this. I started a scrapbook, but haven’t finished it and we have so many photos I don’t know what to do with them all.
I also like how easy it is to create.
70,000 photos! I am wondering how many I have got now . . . I save them on my computer and on a back-up as well, so they are not all on the family phone. I love the idea of this photo book, though, and how easy it is to customize and design digitally! Your page layouts are beautiful and I can imagine a wedding book would be lovely.
Thanks for sharing! 🙂
What a wonderful idea this is and what a lovely way to keep those precious memories! I do like a physical copy of photos than just scrolling through the ones on my phone! x

these photo books are such great ideas! We often order them although you’re reminding me I wanted to make one of our Europe trip in 2019 and I still haven’t done that yet, oops! Haha! It’s nice to have the memories to flick through!
Hope that you had a great weekend 🙂 We made the most of the warm sunny days after a rainy week 🙂
i’m going to keep this album in mind for my wedding photos {especially as gifts for parents etc…]. i’m getting married in may. 🙂
This is such a lovely idea! I am terrible about printing photos. My poor kids! Thank you for sharing your code, too. I will have to work on this!
OMG, I don’t think I’ve told you how obsessed I am with your baby!! He is so cute!! I swear if he wanted everything I owned, I would give it all up just looking at his face HAHA This is such an excellent idea! I’ve been thinking of doing memory books soon! Happy that you love yours! x

These are the cutest pictures ever! Look at you both in your jumpers! Photo books are always a great gift idea; although I’ve never used this particular brand before, I’ve made a couple in the past. The last one was a little one for my boyfriend of photos and things of his dog that passed away in 2018. They’re so special x
This is a fab idea! I haven’t done any photobooks the last two years, thanks to covid, but I’m really looking forward to printing them this year.

I absolutely LOVE this idea for a Christmas gift. Anything personalised has my name on it. I might do my own with wedding photos for my mum!
Also, Leo is just the star of the show isn’t he!

I love this idea! It’d make an amazing Christmas present for grandparents too. We’re quite on it when it comes to printing pictures, we’ve got about four full albums printed now since we had Amelia. I’ll be adding to it at the end of the month.

What a great personalised gift for a loved one this Christmas. I love personalised gifts they are so sentimental and add that extra effort. Thank you for sharing your experience and your opinion. The photographs are beautiful.

This is a fantastic idea! I have lost so many photos cause they were only in digital format and stored in a hard drive that just stopped working. I wish I had printed some of them while I still could. I have my closest friends with me for most years of my life. It would be great to gift them a book filled with our memories together! Thank you for giving me this idea!
I have a photo book like this from our wedding that I cherish to bits and pieces. They really do make excellent gifts!

This looks so lovely! It would definitely be a great idea for your wedding photos too!
