AD| If you really want to grow your blog, then the most important strategy you need to focus your time and attention on is Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). SEO will enable you to drive people to find the blogs that you spend so much time researching and writing, grow an audience, and create long-term growth. There are over 600 million blogs online today and 4.66 billion people around the world who are using the internet. SEO can be the key factor in what gets your blog seen over your competitors.

There are many reasons why your blog will benefit from an SEO strategy. Here are just a few to get you started.

Why Your Blog Needs An SEO Strategy

Drive traffic

A good SEO strategy will allow you to optimize your content for specific keywords and queries that your audience are using, so your content is more relevant. This means it better meets the criteria of the Google algorithm and is more likely to rank higher in the search engine results page (SERP). Visibility is key if you want to drive more organic traffic.

Fix technical issues

SEO is not all about keywords. Part of a good SEO strategy also includes the technical side of your website. This usually includes using tools such as Moz or SEMrush to diagnose and fix any technical issues that could be hindering its performance in the SERPs, as well as what makes users bounce off your site. In order for your website to appeal to Google and its users, it needs to function well. The Google algorithm makes it clear that a mobile-friendly website is favorable.

Build a loyal audience

Not only will SEO drive more traffic to your website and therefore increase your audience, but it will enable you to better serve your audience. This is because part of an SEO strategy involves keyword research, which will tell you exactly what your ideal readers are searching for on the internet, what their problems are, and how popular those kinds of queries are. This will allow you to put together a strategy to provide solutions to their problems and serve them better. SEO will provide a better reader experience, as following a structure with SEO in consideration means you make it load faster, make it more relevant, more professional and keep readers coming back for more. This helps you to gain a competitive edge over your competitors.

Reduced budget

SEO is all about driving organic traffic, which means there is no money spent on advertisements. While they are still an excellent strategy, SEO is a great way to grow your blog without spending a significant amount of money, and create long-term growth. As you consistently grow your SEO, you are setting your business up for success.

SEO should be the most important strategy you spend your time and effort on if you have a website or a blog, and working with an SEO agency is the best way to support your efforts. It is important to note that SEO takes time, so ensure that you stay consistent with your efforts for maximum growth.

  1. These are good tips! thanks for sharing! I really need to try do more with SEO! There used to be a way in Google analytics to see what people had searched for on my blog and on YouTube and it gave me fun ideas for videos but I haven’t looked at it in years, I really should!

Hope you had a great weekend 🙂 We managed to enjoy some time outdoors despite the colder than usual spring weather!

  2. Great post lovely. I definitely don’t have an SEO strategy – I’d probably need to hire someone to do it for me properly because I absolutely hate it haha. I SEO optimize most of my posts though which has definitely helped with search engine traffic!
