AD| If you want to start earning money from your blog, you can review products for money. Reviewing products and creating sponsored posts is a great way to go. Brands will give you free stuff and maybe even pay a fee if you post reviews about their products. It’s a much better way to earn money from your blog, but a lot of bloggers don’t know how to get started and how to attract brands in the first place. This quick guide will tell you everything you need to know about reviewing products on your blog.
Make Some Of Your Own Reviews
Before you start approaching brands and asking for free products, you need to show them that you can make a great review. So, pick some of your favourite products and make a great quality review. Video reviews are best because they give you the opportunity to demonstrate products better and they are more engaging. You may even want to hire a live streaming company to help you create a high-quality, professional video. When choosing products to review, think about what your audience is likely to be interested in and what products you are genuinely passionate about. It shows if you are not genuine about the products, so pick things that you really like.
Grow Your Blog
Brands won’t be interested in giving you products to review if you don’t have a very big audience. They’re looking for bloggers that have lots of readers that are likely to be interested in their product. So, before you are able to start reviewing products for money, you need to work on growing your blog following as much as possible. Make sure that you consistently post amazing content and focus on pushing your posts on social media. You could even use an SEO company to help you boost traffic if you are struggling.
Seek Out Brands
Just because you have a strong following on your blog, that doesn’t necessarily mean that brands will come flocking to you asking you to review their products. There are a lot of great blogs out there that have relationships with brands already, so if you want to make yourself stand out, you need to be proactive about things. Don’t wait for them to come to you, seek them out on social media and contact them directly. Give them a bit of information about your blog and the number of followers you have, and let them know you are open to partnerships.
Use Affiliate Programs
People often start monetising their blogs using affiliate programs. By mentioning products and including links, you can earn a small fee. It won’t earn you a full-time living but it’s a good start. If you are already part of an affiliate program, you should consider emailing the affiliate manager and asking them about reviewing products. They may have some contacts that can help you get started and once you begin building those relationships, it will get easier in the future.
If you follow these steps, you can start reviewing products for money on your blog and maybe even turn it into a full-time business.

Thanks for sharing such amazing insights!
Thanks a lot.
Great tips, thank you. I write such a niche market that it feels like more of a challenge to find products to review. I’ll keep my eyes open though.

Good tips! Early this year, I had my first experience collaborating with a brand. It feels so good! Thank you for sharing this tips. I need to learn more because I’m looking for more opportunities.
Some great tips. It’s really important for bloggers to show what they can do before they ask / contact brands by reviewing their own stuff first. I did the same when I was a book blogger – I reviewed TONS of my own books before published reached out to me and I was able to receive books in exchange for reviews 🙂 xx
These are such brilliant tips and ways you can earn!

Hi Corinne,
Very informative, thank you. I think that I need to get some more content on my site first (and, as you indicate, more viewers!) but I’ll come back to this post again at some point in the future.
Great insights, thanks for sharing

Thanks. This is useful for new bloggers, such as I am.
These are good tips! I had no idea you could get paid for reviews – I turn down all of the requests I get!
Hope your week is going well and you have a nice weekend ahead of you 🙂
I definitely love the gifting side of blogging, it means I get to try items I might not normally
Love all of these tips! Affiliate programs are such a great way to start out and reviewing products before approaching brands. COmpletely agree that you need examples and readers before approaching brands x
These are some brilliant tips, especially for newbie bloggers xx
I always thought that brands don’t pay for product reviews (since I come from a book blogging background where we only get free book copies in exchange for reviews) but my view has changed after seeing other bloggers review for a price. I should work up to this by reviewing some thing and reaching out. Thanks for this!
Thank you for sharing these tips! I’ve just uploaded my first review – thinking that I could write more reviews for the above reasons x
These are great tips. It makes sense that we should do some reviews on our own first so a company can see what to expect first before they give us stuff. Thanks for the insight!
I’ve been putting off rejoining aff markets for ages and I know I just need to bite the bullet now. I used to do it with varying degrees of success but now I think is the time to jump back in and see what I can do
