I love a Museum an when I found out that Venice had a natural history museum, I knew I had t0 visit!
It took a while to find as if you’ve ever been to Venice, you’ll know that it’s hard to gauge which direction you are heading as you’re weaving in and out of small streets and over canals. Luckily it was signposted!
It was only 8 euro to get in and is the only thing we paid for during our stay apart from food and drink.
Like most museums, it starts in the pre-historic era. Fossils and dinosaurs then go on the journey through evolution.
It was so quiet and nice to look around without feeling pushed and shoved like in a London museum.
Although the room with all the animals on the wall was amazing, it was also really sad as it is a collection of ‘trophies’. These animals were killed for sport which is a tough cookie to swallow.
It took about an hour and a half to get around everything so it is a great way to spend a rainy afternoon before hitting the beer!
I also love a good museum and try to visit one when on a city break. I really fancy Venice and its on my list of cities to visit x
