I didn’t know about the music museum in Venice until we visited the beautiful Italian city. Venice is the birthplace of Vivaldi and a massive influence on music throughout Europe.
This free museum is displayed inside San Maurizio Church and showcases beautiful instruments across a 300 year period, as well as a small workshop that shows you how violins are made.
In the Music Museum Venice, there are harps, clarinets, oboes – plus lots of instruments I’ve never even heard of!
It’s a lovely way to spend an hour or so in Venice. Visit the music museum on your next trip! I felt so inspired by this museum that when I returned home, I leant a piece by Vivaldi on the piano.
This is the address: Campo San Maurizio, San Marco 2603 – 30124 Venezia

You know what? I’ve lived near Venice for 10+ years and never knew about this music museum. As a musician myself, I will need to head here as soon as we’re allowed to travel again because it looks lush!
