A couple of weeks ago I took a step back in time and went back to my University city – for the Bradford Pantomime. We went to the stunning Alhambra theatre to see a panto to celebrate my friends 30th birthday.
Funny story – on her 21st birthday we treated her to a show at St George’s Hall in Bradford, about 10 of us went all dressed up as we had a meal and casino planned afterwards. Well, it turned out that it was actually a school production and the people there were parents and family of the kids in it, plus our lot all dressed up! Awkward.
Anyway, this time it wasn’t a school production.
The Christmas Bradford pantomime at the Alhambra
Hop aboard a magical carpet and fly to Old Peking in this year’s must-see festive show Aladdin. Starring the undisputed King of Bradford Panto, Billy Pearce, stage, screen and pantomime legend, the one-and-only Christopher Biggins and Blue star Simon Webbe.
I’ve not been to a pantomime since I was a child. I haven’t laughed that much in ages! It’s packed full of those really stupid jokes that you can’t help laughing it, as well as a few rude ones that the kids won’t understand but the adults loved. They were very interactive with us, getting us to shout certain things, picking people out of the audience and the like.
It was a lot of fun and I think we’re going to make it a yearly tradition!
