We walked for miles in London looking for something like Las Iguanas London Royal Festival Hall. After walking from Battersea, where we were staying, to the Science Museum, we decided it was time for food. We hopped on the tube and stopped off at Blackfriars to walk down South Bank in search of food. After a long walk down past the South Bank Centre, we came to Las Iguanas Royal Festival Hall.
I had been describing how much I wanted nachos (Las Iguanas Nachos are top-notch by the way) – so this Mexican style restaurant ticked all the boxes. Or should I say, ticked the one box? 100%. Well done.
As soon as we opened the menu, we decided on sharing some tapas. Las Iguanas have offers on 3 plates or 6 plates, so we went for 6 plates. As we were both starving, we also ordered chips.
The nachos came out first, I asked for a pulled beef topping and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. The rest of the dishes came when we had finished the nachos. I went from starving to full very quickly. But I struggled on.
The lamb meatballs were probably my favourite dish – they had that lovely sweet lamb taste even in the sauce! I wasn’t a fan of the chicken wings, but I never like chicken wings and they were the boyfriends choice.
The service was quick, the food was tasty and it came to just less than £50 for the food, a large glass of wine and a beer. Not bad!
There’s a Las Iguanas in York, so we are dying to try that at now!

I’ve never eaten there before but I used to quite often go to the Festival Hall for rehearsals. It all looks tasty! There is a wonderful Mexican restaurant where we used to live and I adore their nachos!
