I need to stop drinking wine

My head hurts.

That’s because I’m hungover. Again. I woke up at about 3 am with a banging headache, needing a wee and water but not wanting to move. Those famous last words ‘I’m never drinking again’.

I remember when I was at uni and I used to drink loads and feel fine the next day. Just a bit tired. l could drink on a Friday night and then go work at 7 am on a Saturday. As I’ve gotten older, my hangovers have gotten worse and worse.

Wine seems to be giving me a hard time in particular. Which is tough because I love wine and I really enjoy drinking it. But what don’t love is staying in bed until 11 am and then on the sofa for another 4 hours before I can actually move and do something.

I don’t love that all I’ve eaten is toast and a pot noodle. I don’t love that I didn’t go get my car cleaned because I felt ill. I don’t love that I didn’t go to the gym and I’ve only just started blogging at 3 pm.

It’s crap.

This is not a regular thing for me at all but it is becoming more regular due to my tolerance for getting lower and lower.

Splitting headache, feeling sick and tired all are feelings I hate.

So I wanted to write this post just to put it out there. To officially say that I am quitting wine. Gin and beer is the way forward and will now be my weekend drink of choice.

The end.

Wine used to be my best friend when it came to drink of choice. I could drink a bottle on a night out and be perfectly fine, just a little tired the next day. Now, out of nowhere, wine hates me. All wine. Prosecco especially, which isn’t great when it’s usually thr drink of choice with friends and family! I can manage a glass with dinner, but that’s about it, then it’s either gin or home to bed! So I am totally with you on this!

Lately wine has been making me ill too. So gutted as I love my wine so much, and not long ago I could easily drink a bottle and be OK. Red wine in particular seems to trigger a migraine sometimes. It hasn’t stopped me yet but I know the time is near for quitting altogether. Sigh 🙁
