I’m a big Netflix fan – full series of TV to watch with no adverts. It’s the best! Looking through all the options can be a bit overwhelming and it can be hard to pick what to watch next. So to help you decide, here’s what I’ve been watching lately.

Wild Wild Country.

Wild Wild Country is a true story of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh and his cult. In the 80’s, he moved from India to America with members of his cult. They bought some land in a small town. It interviews people who were members of the cult, members of the town they took over and Sheela, Bhagwan’s secretary.

It’s a very interesting documentary and it’s crazy what this cult achieve. I don’t want to say too much and ruin the story, but it’s interesting and a must watch.

Staircase.

The first few episodes of the staircase left me feeling a bit boring. It was told to carry on with the documentary about Michael Peterson who was accused of murdering his life by pushing her down the stairs. I am so glad I did.

Michael hired a film crew to document the whole things. There are interviews with the family, footage of the trail itself as well as footage of meetings with his defense team. You quickly get addicted when it goes to trial. A very scary view of the legal system.

Dark Tourist.

Dark Tourist is a documentary by a guy who is like Louis Theroux but a bit shitter. He basically investigates Dark Tourism. Which is tourist attractions with are a bit off. From visiting areas that have high radiation to a forest where lots of people commit suicide, it’s a unique view of tourism.

Amazing Interiors.

I wasn’t that bothered about watching this but my boyfriend convinced me. I loved it! It follows the stories of people are building unique properties and shows some amazing houses that are already built. From a couple that renovates a canal boat in London to a man that has a sci-fi museum in his basement. It’ll get you dreaming about your future home.

Afflicted.

I’ve only watched one episode of this so far but can’t wait to watch more. It follows people who have chronic illnesses that are hard to treat and live with. It follows someone with electromagnetic hypersensitivity who gets ill and in pain when she is near, well, electrical things or phone signals etc. There is a girl who gets extremely ill from mold – its believed something in her immune system is suppressed meaning her body can’t rid of toxins from mold like healthy people. Then there’s a man who suffers very badly from ME and hasn’t left his room in two years. They are searching for a way to live life. With 7 people documented all together, there are more stories to come.

  1. My flat mates been watching Afflicted and she was trying to persuade me to watch it, but I feel like it’ll make me deeply sad or scare me that said I do have a thick skin when it comes to things like that, maybe I’m a tad desensitised to human suffering, but who isn’t these days? This comment took an unexpectedly dark twist I’m sorry great post though Corinne, will deffo check some of these out!

  2. Absolutely loved Dark Tourist! I’ve tried to watch Staircase, but I really struggled to get into it – I might give it another chance now!

  3. I have actually never heard of any of these before, except for amazing interiors. I’m a lover of anything decorating and architecture, so I’ve watched a few episodes in this. I haven’t completely finished it yet, but I’m so glad to hear you loved it so much! Great post Corinne xxx
