Apple is a company universally known for the high-quality products that they provide, and the iPhone has evolved considerably since it was first released in June of 2007. I actually remember the first time I saw an iPhone. It was when I lived in France and someone on a train had one. At the time I had a Motorola flip phone, so it looked like something from the future.
While iPhones are designed to last you a long time, they’re still not designed to last you forever, and sooner or later there will be crystal clear signs that it’s time for a replacement.
It’s not like that’s a bad thing since each successive iPhone is a significant upgrade over the last. Plus, if you’re worried about costs, you can do things such as setting up installment plans to pay less per month or search the internet for special Apple iPhone deals.
Here are the top five signs it’s time for a new iPhone:
#1 – You’re Having To Recharge Your Battery More Than Once A Day
Your iPhone should be able to last you for a full day on a full charge, meaning you should be able to leave for work at seven in the morning and come back home in the evening at five in the evening without having to charge it (at least assuming that you’re not watching videos all day).
If you’re having to recharge your iPhone’s battery more than once a day, you can either purchase a replacement battery or if other bad symptoms are occurring as well you should seek a full upgrade.
#2 – Your Touch Screen Is Slower
iPhone touch screens are known for being very responsive, so if it starts acting a little slower or you’re having to use more force, it’s time that you need to get a replacement.
#3 – Your Phone Freezes Up (or Shuts Down) Randomly
Even worse than having a short battery life or a slower touchscreen is when your phone freezes up or entirely shuts down randomly. For one thing, it’s annoying, and it can also happen when you need it last.
If your phone has been freezing up a lot lately, getting a replacement should definitely be a major priority for you. Don’t forget to seek out Apple promo codes to help you get a lower price as well if you’re not financially at the best position to purchase one.
#4 – You Can’t Download Any New Operating System Updates
If your phone will no longer accept any operating system updates from Apple, it’s a crystal clear sign that your phone is outdated, and a new one should be the horizon for you. A phone that will no longer accept new updates as well will often be more likely to suffer from slower touch screens and crashes.
#5 – Your Phone Overheats Too Easily
Lately, have you been using your phone very minimally only for it to heat up quickly? A mobile device that’s overheating from minimal use is most likely going to encounter more problems soon down the road.
Replacing Your iPhone
If your iPhone is displaying one or more of these above symptoms on a repeated basis, then it’s a clear sign that you need to replace it with an upgrade.
I see these are really good reason – fortunately now I know my iPhone is still okay 🙂 Thank you!

I’ve been needing a new iphone for about 6 months now. It does my head in, because it’s a known thing that Apple does something in the software to make older phones go bad. I’m still deciding whether I want to upgrade to a new iphone, switch to a galaxy or a pixel or something. Loads of decisions to make, which is a bit frustrating. Let’s see what ends up happening. My phone’s showing almost all of these signs, which don’t look very good for me! Great post Corinne xx
