While we were in Crete, we ate out a few times. All-inclusive is fun but it’s nice to get out and have a big of table service!
We found this place near the end of our holiday, sadly. It was easily the nicest place of the 3 places we had evening meals! Would have loved to go there a few more times.
The first time we went, I had a special pizza which was cooked in a traditional pizza oven. My boyfriend had barbequed pork ribs. They have a barbeque at the entrance where the pork was cooked, along with other dishes on the barbeque menu. I’m not a massive fan of pork but his dish was delicious. It was so tender!
They bring you some bread to start with, either garlic or normal. We asked for garlic. It’s basically a baguette cut in half with garlic and cheese, toasted in the pizza oven. Delicious.
At the end of the meal, they brought us some traditional Greek spirit to shot and melon. Yum!
The second time we went, I wasn’t feeling too well. My boyfriend ordered a steak which he said was delicious and I ordered a burger. The burger looked so good, I cut it in half and it was pink and juicy on the inside. Sadly, I had bitten off more than I could chew and couldn’t eat it. When the staff noticed I wasn’t eating, they came over and asked if I was okay and to make sure the food was okay. I explained the food was fine and I wasn’t feeling well. One of the waitresses came back with a glass of ice and napkin. She said it happens to her all the time because of the heat and told me to put the ice on my wrist to cool down. They were lovely about it. While my boyfriend enjoyed his steak, I felt a bit better but not well enough to eat the burger. They packed it away for me to take away in case I felt better later. I did eat the rest of the chips a few hours later and had a bite of the burger and I’m so sad I didn’t get to eat it all!
Please go here if you are in Hersonissos. The food is spot on, the staff are lovely and look at the tree they have growing through the restaurant!
