Revamp Your Living Room In A Single Weekend

Many of us put off redecorating a room in our home because we feel like we just haven’t got the time. However, what would you think if I informed you it is possible to do this all in a single weekend, even in a single day if you can live with the colour you have on the walls already? Don’t believe me, well just keep reading to find out more.

Have a design in mind

The key to doing a redecoration quickly and efficiently is to have a firm plan for what you want, and what you need to do in place. The first step in executing this is to get some inspiration for the style of the room you want.

To do this, you can look at blogs, in magazines, or lurk on others Instagram accounts, especially those with the hashtag #homedesign and #interior. Although if you are stuck remember that minimalism, boho chic, and pastels and marble are super on trend right now.

Once you have picked the look you are going for you will need to write out a list of what needs to be purchased and the jobs that need to be done. In particular, this is an excellent time to decide whether you will be doing any significant tasks like painting the walls or uninstalling fixed pieces of furniture as these jobs can make the process take a little longer and will need to be booked in for the beginning of your redecoration weekend.

Get your materials

Next, its shopping time, and if you’re anything like me, you have spending money down to an art form. Happily, you don’t even need to do too much work when it comes to this stage as you can get most of the items and materials you want online, and then have them delivered to your home ready for the big day.

Clear out the rubbish

When it comes to the weekend in which you will perform the magic of transformation on your living room the very first thing you need to do is to clear the space and get rid of any old pieces that you no longer want.

You will, of course, need to get shot of any waste that your renovation creates so be sure to find a company like Dirt Cheap Rubbish Removal that will come and pick up your trash and take it away for you. Something that will ensure you get to spend as much time as possible on the fun arty bits.

Et Voila

Once you have cleared the rubbish and painted the walls (if that is what you are going for) it’s really just a matter of arranging your new pieces and putting up things like blind and curtains.

Lastly, do not forget to position any ornaments and soft furnishing accents like a scatter cushions, and you will be pretty much done and dusted. Et voila, your new front room completed in a single weekend, well with a bit of prep beforehand, but, still pretty quick!

  1. This just makes me want to decorate but I refuse to do too much as we’re only renting at the minute! I can’t wait until I have a home of my own and I can go wild with a tin of paint!

  2. What good tips you advise us to get a change of image in our spaces, sometimes with a little imagination you can get an interesting change without having to invest a lot of money in the renovation.
