On our quest to find new places to try in York, we walked past Sulters and decided to give it a try.
They have an extensive range of spirits, including an impressive gin collection! After getting our drinks, we decided to check out upstairs and find somewhere to sit. It’s one of the bars in York that has lots of odd rooms that range in size, some just enough for one table and chairs. We found a room upstairs at the back that had 4 booths in it.
It’s a stunning building inside, with all the crooked door frames and beams. There’s also some interesting old art on the wall, adding to the feeling of the place is typical of York.
They do serve food, though we didn’t try any. It’s all made from local ingredients and seems to be the typical bar grill type food.
Sulters is a great place to try, it’s on Fossgate so is around many other bars – making it a great addition to a York pub crawl.
Sulters is now known as Fossgate Tap.

There are so many awesome little places in York! And I am always sold if there’s an extnsive gin collection! I really want to head back to York this summer, it’s one of my fave places to explore!
