Hello everyone. How’s it going?
I didn’t plan on doing one of these posts, but looking back on my top posts for 2017, I saw my 2017 blog stat and income report did pretty well. So I thought why not.
The main reason I didn’t want to do it is because I’ve not worked on my page views or social media at all. For me, 2017 has been very much the year of the settling into a new lifestyle. This means I have less time to blog. But what is the point of having a lifestyle blog if you don’t have a life? So I had to let some things go.
TWITTER:
JANUARY 1ST 2016: 4438
JANUARY 1ST 2017: 10921
JANUARY 1ST 2018: 11131
All I’ve really done on Twitter is schedule Tweets using Buffer. I’m surprised I’ve gained any at all. A small victory on my part.
INSTAGRAM:
JANUARY 1ST 2016: 2055
JANUARY 1ST 2017: 6309
JANUARY 1ST 2018: 5663
Not a surprise. My Instagram use has been sporadic. I’d post 3 photos a day for half a week and none for the rest of the week. Oops. I also did no commenting, linking or keeping up with the changes. I just basically do what I want with Instagram and I’m losing followers. So that’s wonderful.
I am working on this though!
PINTEREST:
JANUARY 1ST 2016: 1259
JANUARY 1ST 2017: 3741
JANUARY 1ST 2018: 3818
First time I’ve logged onto Pinterest in about 10 months. So again surprised I had gained anything at all!
BLOGLOVIN:
JANUARY 1ST 2016: 2,441
JANUARY 1ST 2017: 3885
JANUARY 1ST 2018: 4133
I’m quite happy with this. I’ve not made any effort on Bloglovin’ at all. I don’t tweet asking people to follow me on Bloglovin’ or any social media. First time I’ve logged on in months on this one, too.

I’m pretty shocked to see Pinterest in here seeing as I’ve not been using it at all! I tried quite a bit in 2016 to improve Pinterest referrals and didn’t see much change. I think that goes to show sometimes it is a bit of luck!

I’ve made over £2000 more n 2017! That’s great to say I’ve been slacking on almost everything apart from daily blogging. I think that’s because I’ve established myself with a fair few brands/PR’s now that I get repeat work from a lot of people. It just goes to show that you can still do well without putting 40 hours a week in!
How did you do in 2017?

Great income! I’d be interested to know the breakdown if you don’t mind sharing. Is that simply charging for sponsored posts or are there affiliate incomes and ads, etc?
This is a very interesting post. Good to know you managed to find time for blogging, even if you changed your lifestyle. I didn’t do any analysis for the last year, I’ve been away for much of 2017 so my views have probably dropped down significantly in the last few months….. Now, that I’m blogging again, I’m hoping they will go back up. The amount of promotion we’re doing and our overall activity on social media is usually visible in terms of views. I haven’t been very active on Instagram lately….it is hard to find time for all social media. I never did learn how to use twitter and pinterest properly.
I love getting to see this, as it’s a realistic look on everything! I wish I had kept track of everything like this, but I’m tracking things this year 🙂 Tania Michele xx
I really need to up my blogging game this year… I keep going in and out with what I can be bothered to do!
Great job! I am really glad for you and also glad to see that the blogging industry is still up and kicking ass. 🙂
