It’s not oblivious to me that in 2017, I didn’t make as many improvements with blogging and social media as I had the year before. You can see that from my 2017 blog stat and income report.
Following on from that, I wanted to go over a few things I want to get better at with blogging. Call it goals, call it whatever you want. These are the things I’m working on:
Consistent scheduled Tweets.
I used to be so good at scheduling tweets and could never understand why some bloggers struggled. I had Buffer as my best friend helping me to get 100 tweets in my queue.
Over the past few months, I’ve really struggled with this and there have been times when I’ve gone hours or even a full day without any scheduled Tweets. The horror.
There really is no excuse as it takes about 5 minutes to schedule 50 tweets. This is something I need to get better at.
I also need to start adding more posts in my Buffer feed as I tend to rebuffer the same links again and again and again.
Consistent Instagram schedule.
Instagram and me are like frenemies. We have a lifelong battle of love and hate.
I go through phases of great love for the platform and then the next day I’m a bit meh about it all. I’m currently trying to post once a day and have images stocked up to put out when ready. Focusing on fitness, food and travel, I’m working hard on getting my Instagram to look like something I can be proud of.
Consistent commenting.
I used to comment on other blogs every day. Lately, it’s become a once a week thing and now I need a kick up the arse to make more effort to comment on other peoples posts.
Twice a week is what I’m aiming for.
Keep up with the industry.
I used to be so on it with the latest news within blogging and online marketing. From reading websites to listening to podcasts I used to have a great knowledge of what was going on with SEO, DA, the latest trends and more.
This is something I need to get much better at, getting back into taking time to read the latest news. I think it’s because I used to do this before going to sleep on an evening but now because I live with my boyfriend I’ve stopped taking my laptop to bed with me.
Follow the pageviews.
There’s no doubt that my blog posts about blogging are my most viewed, commented, tweeted and shared. I stopped writing as many posts about blogging as it seems everyone is doing it lately and I wasn’t sure if I had anything new to add. Hopefully, by keeping up with the industry I’ll be able to come up with new post ideas to help you blog better.
The end!
I definitely want to improve on my photos and also growing followers.

I have the same relationship with Instagram, sometimes I’m active there, sometimes I’m not…I think there is a way to automatically schedule posts on Instagram as well but I can’t remember the name of the app. I need to work more on regular blog commenting as well.
I need to work on all of these things too Corinne, well apart from Instagram as I just can’t be bothered with posting on there! I haven’t been commenting on blogs anywhere near as much as I used to and I used to find I’d get good traffic from doing it, so I definitely need to make more of an effort again. Same with scheduling tweets too! x

Great goals, it’s so hard to find the time to schedule tweets, post to IG and comment on other people’s blogs regularly when you have a busy life!
I need to get better with twitter again and getting back into commenting on blogs a lot more, as I’ve slacked a lot wit it this year so far! 🙂 Tania Michele xx
