I’d never heard of kitchen tea before.
It’s kind of like an afternoon tea and a bridal shower all mixed together. It’s tradition for guests to bring a gift relating to the kitchen, to help her set up the kitchen in the marital home.
We had it at my brother and sister-in-law’s house and the set up was too adorable. If I ever end up getting married, I’m 100% going to have a kitchen tea like this.
We had the most amazing punch, made with vodka, raspberry, and sparkling pink wine. It tasted like pop and I had way too many!
The food was lovely – sushi, sandwiches, wraps, macaroons, cake.
My niece got some adorable gifts. A couple of teapots and also hampers of kitchen products and food in a washing basket. Glasses, mugs, bowls, tea towels – all the practical stuff you need. Handy as she’s just moved in with her husband!
Have you been to a kitchen tea before?
I’ve heard about these but never been to one, it looks like a lot of fun! The table is set up beautifully and the food looks so tasty! Congratulations to your niece 🙂
Hope that this first week of 2018 is going well for you! We’ve had such a relaxing week here, really appreciated after a crazy year last year!
I’ve never heard of a Kitchen Tea before but it looks like a really lovely idea. It seems quite traditional as well. Often people have already set up home before getting married now and gifts for the home aren’t needed like they were years ago.
Lovely idea, a instagramable moment. The cakes and set up looks lovely. Hope she had a lovely day Lucy x
