I’m loving TV lately. I wasn’t aways like this, but since living alone and having my own living room I’ve started spending more time in front of the box. I’m not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing, but here are some of the things I’ve been watching lately.

Game of Thrones.

I’m really late the the party with this one, I started watching Game Of Thrones with my boyfriend just before Christmas and we finished it a couple of weeks ago.

I always thought I would hate the show. Battles and fighting just didn’t seem like something I would enjoy, but wow, this show is breathtaking.

I love how it has a bit of magic and fantasy to it, but not enough that it seems unreal. It gets it just right – a bit of witchcraft, dragons, the white walkers.

There are so many things going on – it’s like a show with loads of main characters and story lines. There is someone everyone can relate to. Someone everyone can hate and so much death, shock and horror.

I’m very happy with how season 6 ended. My favourite characters all came out on top, but knowing how brutal Game of Thrones can be, I just hope they survive season 7.

Don’t get too attached to people. All men must die.

Peep Show.

I’ve seen a few episodes of Peep Show here and there but I’ve never watched it too much. I watched all episodes last month and it really appalled to my inner freak.

Mark is just so socially awkward, he makes me feel almost human.

Peep Show is a British comedy following the lives of Mark and Jeremy. They get everything wrong and do the most cringe worthy things.

Jane the Virgin.

I’m not sure how I feel about this TV show. It’s very cheesy but strangely addictive. It follows Jane who decides she is going to stay a virgin until her wedding night. She goes for a smear test and the doctor mistakes her for a patient that has come in for an insemination. Jane gets pregnant.

What follows is a mix of dark storylines with a daft bit of comedy. It’s a very easy watch.

Royale Family.

I watched the Royale Family when it first came out YEARS ago, but don’t remember much about it.

When I saw it on Netflix, I decided to start watching it. It’s hilarious.

It’s another British TV show that is based around the Royale Family – a typical working class family. They mostly sit in front of the TV talking rubbish, but it’s all things you will have heard from your parents and grandparents growing up. The typical small talk, the insults, the tight Dad that sits on his arse and proudly announces here is going for a Tommy Tit.

It’s funny.

Band of Brothers.

Ross from friends is in this. But it’s weird because he is a mean Captain.

Band of Brothers was made in 2001, I had no idea it was that old. It’s a TV show about Easy Company – a Parachute Regiment of the American army – it follows their journey from training until they go over to Europe to fight in World War 2.

It’s the type of show that tries to allow you to see inside the heads of those fighting in the war. It’s a distressing show and is upsetting in parts, but I guess for it to portray the war, that’s what you expect.

I have a few episodes left of this and can’t wait to watch it.

What have you been watching lately?

  1. I totally love Game of Thrones. Big Fan! In fact, I’m a nerdy fan (I think). Ha! I’m also thinking of starting to watch Jane the Virgin.

  2. I couldn’t get into Game Of Thrones. A friend put the first episode on for me, but I didn’t enjoy it at all.

I’ve got into Designated Survivor on Netflix and I’m really enjoying it 🙂

  3. Jane the Virgin sounds hilarious, I didn’t know it. Game of Thrones is amazing, I love it too.
