When I was little, I couldn’t wait to be an independent adult. I always hated being bossed about and told what to do. I dreamed of freedom.
I didn’t know this at the time, but with such freedom comes responsibility. You have choices that you have to make all on your own.
You can pick the easy option and struggle later. You can pick the sensible option and reap the rewards. I’m definitely deeply emerged in the instant in the instant gratification culture.
This means I don’t think about future Corinne. Just current Corinne.
So here are some of the things I do (or don’t do) and then regret later.
- I don’t put my laptop on charge because it’s a whole room away.
- I drink just a glass of wine which turns into half a bottle and have work at 8am.
- I leave washing in the machine too long.
- I leave washing up until the next morning.
- I go for a run at midday instead of 10am like planned.
- I skip the gym and play XBox instead.
- I opt for a bacon butty instead of fruit for breakfast.
- I wash my hair and don’t straighten it until the morning and then I’m late for work.
- I watch an extra episode of Jane The Virgin instead of going to bed at 10pm.
- Wash my bedsheets but don’t put the clean set on until bedtime.
- I play Candy Crush instead of taking blog pictures.
- I can’t be arsed to go to the Post Office to pick up a parcel and have to get up early on my day off.
I’d love to end this post by saying I’m going to change these things. But to be honest, I don’t think I will.
What things do you do but regret later?
Usually I’ll tell myself I’m going to do X Y and Z super productive things, then I sit down and lay The Sims for 6 hours. Then I get mad at myself for not doing the X Y Z things, then I feel sad, then I play more Sims because the day is already over and what’s the point in doing them now?
Bad us.
Sarah 🙂
Oh, no! I never do that! :)) I think everybody prefers watching a movie or playing a game instead of doing chores.
Drinking more than intended is definitely one of them! Also having some nasty snacks after a workout is one that I hate the most. We all leave the laundry in the machine too long once in a while, it is all fine!
Saying that I will do a workout, but in the end, I am doing something else 🙂 what’s more “important” then the workout 🙂
I usually regret it when I don’t go to bed on time.
For me its always food. I shouldn’t of eaten the whole cake, I shouldn’t have eaten the whole pizza… food. REGRET. but it just tastes so good!
This is too funny, I can definitely relate to almost every one of these! haha. Amazing blog too by the way, well done gorgeous gal! x

I can really relate to how much regret to the drinking half a bottle of wine part and having to work at 8am…don’t forget the hangover that feels like my brain is getting run over again and again and again by a tank.
I let my phone completely drain of battery before I charge it cos I can’t be bothered to get up. I leave all my assignments until the last minute. I let my flat turn into a pig sty before I decide to clean. Amy x
It would be a boring world if we were all the same Lucy x
I sleep until the last minute and don’t do the things I should do. I eat McDonald’s or Dunkin Donuts for breakfast. I don’t do laundry until I absolutely have to. I don’t have any days off (but the paycheck is pretty nice).
