There has been so many blog posts lately about how blogging has changed over the past few years. I have wrote about this before and I’m not sure if it is blogging that has changed, or that our perception of blogging is different after we become exposed to and away to things such as selling links, not disclosing and the like.
Anyway, I thought it would make an interesting topic so here we are.
What are your thoughts on changes in blogging?
Q1: When did you start blogging?
@skinnedcartree currently about 2 months. I had a beauty blog before though for like 7 years :’) #socialbloggers

@skinnedcartree A1: Nearly 3 years ago, though you wouldn’t be able to tell with the number of posts I have haha! #socialbloggers

@skinnedcartree I’ve been blogging on and off for five years but rebranded a year and a half ago and it stuck this time! #socialbloggers

@skinnedcartree I’ve been blogging on and off since dec 2013

Q2: Do you think blogging has changed?
@skinnedcartree I do but I can’t put my finger on it. I know I read less nowadays. I’ve honed my likes! #socialbloggers
— Vix Meldrew (@VixMeldrew) 11 March 2017
@skinnedcartree It’s less natural these dayseverything is curated. As for reading: people comment, interact and follow less. #socialbloggers
— Amy (@amynmore) 11 March 2017
@skinnedcartree it has! But then again everything evolves over time. It’s worth just embracing and adapting! #socialbloggers
— Lucy Old (@lucylouminous) 11 March 2017
@skinnedcartree Many are now so ‘professional’ looking that they’re not alternative forms of media that they once were. #socialbloggers
— Lauren Aitchison (@thetartandevil) 11 March 2017
@skinnedcartree of course! It’s a constantly evolving medium of expression #socialbloggers
— Kanra Khan (@optic_chiasma) 11 March 2017
@skinnedcartree Haven’t really tracked much on blogging. for sure pictures and videos are included lots more, i suppose #socialbloggers
— Rainbowimagine (@Rainbowimagine) 11 March 2017
Q3: What are the positives of changes in blogging?
@skinnedcartree I think generally being accepted as something more than a menial hobby is quite cool #socialbloggers
— Katy (@thekatybennett) 11 March 2017
@skinnedcartree You can take your own skill, topic or niche audience and run as far as you like with it. #socialbloggers
— Lauren Aitchison (@thetartandevil) 11 March 2017
@skinnedcartree as a new blogger so many things to learn, technology plays such a huge role, not sure how positive this is #socialbloggers
— Jennifer Allen (@jenallenmassage) 11 March 2017
@skinnedcartree I like the fact that you can build a blog around a skill or hobby and gain friendships through similar interests.
— MidTwenties (@MidTwentiesB) 11 March 2017
Q4: What are the negatives of changes in blogging?
@skinnedcartree I’m also highly annoyed by these landing page people. It just screams sell sell sell! #socialbloggers
— Rainbowimagine (@Rainbowimagine) 11 March 2017
@skinnedcartree Sometimes I feel like companies cheapen blogging by trying to use it as a marketing service.
— MidTwenties (@MidTwentiesB) 11 March 2017
@skinnedcartree Bloggers are getting more work, but it’s mainly the white, thin, able bodied white ones. #socialbloggers

I liked these questions. Especially the last one and the last answer you posted on it too. I think it’s right. Blogging has changed so much, but thankfully I still enjoy it. Happy Monday x
Nice post dear!

I think the change was inevitable above all to see that for some media and companies blogs had more influence than they had imagined, for example I was surprised to see parade milennials and influencers in the parade of D&G
I do think blogging has changed a lot since I started blogging in 2009. It’s still a young industry, and I’m sure it will continue to evolve. I think it is funny that blogging is becoming more mainstream when a few years ago blogging was not cool at all, ha ha.
I think the internet really speeds up change so it’s interesting to see how the blogging world changes even from year-to-year. I’ve been blogging with my current blog 5 years, but blogged for a while before that. I first had a LiveJournal, but that makes me feel old, ha!
I see blogging changing, but as everything, it has to. I like that more blogs look professional with great pictures and nice designs, it’s a better experience for me, as a reader.
Lots does seem to have changed but I still like blogging! I just seem to have less time for it!!x
