Although I’m not doing weekly updates, I wanted to do a post of things I’m thankful for lately. Do check out Amber’s blog – she’s an amazing blogger, photographer, writer and dress collector.

Being able to exercise.

Some of you might remember that I had a really bad bout of vertigo in December. It totally knocked out and I was unable to workout for over a month. I’ve gained weight and feel like crap.

I felt very hopeless like I’d never be able to workout again. That sounds dramatic, I know. But I just wasn’t getting any better. Being unable to move is scary and I’m so glad to be able to move my body again.

I haven’t been able to go all out like I want to, but I’ve been able to get some decent workouts in. I’ve signed up to a half-marathon in May and have been for a couple of very difficult runs outside. Roll on the warmer weather!

I’ve also been to see a specialist who said I don’t have vertigo and I have to go for an MRI scan. This scares me as every time someone has an MRI in House, something really bad happens.

For months my boyfriend joked he was going to buy me a coffee machine for Christmas because he was sick of drinking shit coffee when he stayed at my house. He actually did it! I’m glad he did because now having a caramel latte is the first thing I look forward to in the morning.

Going to Australia.

In November, I’ll be spending the whole month in Australia to be a bridesmaid at my niece’s wedding. It will be the first time I will have seen my brother, sister-in-law and nephew in 11 years (my niece spent Christmas in England with us). I’ll also be meeting my niece and nephew that they had while in Australia for the first time.

The flights are all booked and the above is the house we will be staying in for the duration.

That’s a lot of posts to schedule!

  1. I can’t wait for your Australian adventures! That house is stunning! This week I’d say I’m thankful for taking the time out to give myself a little pamper, keeping my head straight when things have gone to shit and spending time with family. Also tea, cake and crumpets topped with chocolate spread 😀

    I’m thankful for an amazing (but deeply exhausting) month in Zagreb and everyone I’ve spent time with, I’ve actually started to write a little gratitude journal and I’m enjoying it so much! xx

  3. Wowwww how exciting about Australia that’s amazing! This was funny because I tweeted just this morning using the todayimgratefulfor hashtag and two of them were my coffee machine and getting back into exercise – I struggled with labyrinthitis last month so found it really difficult to exercise but went to play squash this morning and could actually do it yay!

  4. Wow, enjoy your trip to Australia! How lovely that you’ll get to see some of your family you haven’t seen in so long again. You must be excited! I’m trying to write in my gratitude journal every day, to remind myself of all the things I have to be thankful for each day.

  11. MRI scans seem scary but they’re not really. The machine is very noisy, and you have to stay very still. Don’t wear anything metal or you’ll have to take it off (underwired bra included!) but it’s all over in about 5 minutes.

    Your trip to Australia sounds like super fun, it’s always great to see family you’ve been away from for a while.

    Good luck with the MRI – maybe Hugh Laurie will be there to help you through 🙂 Yay for being able to exercise again – i had to wait six weeks after having my baby and I hated it, i missed running so much!
