2017 Blog Goals

I enjoy having blog goals to keep me motivated. It’s a good idea to check in every few months to see how you are tracking so you can make sure you don’t forget what you want to achieve!

Remember when making your goals, go by the SMART model:

2017 Blog Goals

This ensures you set yourself goals you can actually achieve. A goal should be something that is within your reach if you work at it.

Here are my goals for 2017:

2017 Blog Goals

15k Twitter Followers

In 2016 I gained around 6000 Twitter followers, so I think a goal of gaining 4000 in 2017 is reasonable. It would be great to get more than that, but in recent months my growth has slowed down a bit due to not having enough time to be as active.

There is never any point setting unrealistic goals, I can always make my goal bigger if I reach 15k!

5k Bloglovin Followers

I gained about 1500 Bloglovin followers in 2016. I’m currently at 3884 so I need just over 1100 to reach 5k. I feel like this is a tough target as my growth has stopped since I’ve not been commenting enough.

One way I’ll combat this is to try to be more active on Bloglovin’, commenting on new blogs and following those that interest me.

10k Instagram Followers

I started 2016 with 2055 Instagram followers and ended it with 6300. I don’t think 10k is an unrealistic goal if I work at it.

I’m going to start doing comment pods and posting more regularly to help me with this goal!

Continue to blog daily

I’ve blogged daily for almost three years now and that’s something I want to continue in 2017. I love daily blogging and I honestly believe it does wonders for my DA!

How I blog daily.

Be active on Pinterest

I was a bit fickle with Pinterest in 2016 – although I managed to grow my account to 3k followers, I want to make more of an effort to schedule posts for Pinterest. Once a week I’ll sit down and schedule some pins for the following week to help my growth and traffic from Pinterest.

Grow my fitness blog

I make most of my blog income from this blog, but at the end of December, I started earning a bit more from my fitness blog. I’d like to make the effort in 2017 to get better content on that site and see where I can take it.

Post twice a month of my tech blog.

I tried to post once a week on my tech blog but it was proving hard. When I was busy, it was the first blog that I would stop updating. Rather than try and post once I week, I’m going to aim for twice a month and see what happens!

What are your blog goals for 2016?

  1. I really want to grow my Twitter followers this year. Commenting and building Bloglovin is also a big one for me!

My big one, though, is finally getting into a daily posting schedule! Think this will be my hardest one haha. Not so good at the planning bits…

    Happy new year lovely! xx

  2. I wanna grow my Bloglovin’ followers to at least 1k by the end of 2017. Oh my gosh you’ve been blogging daily for years! How do you do that? I find it really hard for me x

  3. I haven’t set up any goals yet, I am still feeling too lazy for it 🙂 I posted daily until Christmas in December and all i can say is it is really hard and I don’t think I’d be able to do it. I hope you will achieve all your goals and even more at the end of the year. Happy 2017! x

  4. Great goals! I think it’s a really good idea have set numbers in mind like this as it gives you something to focus on working towards 🙂 The big one I want to work on is Instagram – I’ve never really bothered about it until the end of last year, then saw quite a quick growth from about 300 to 700 followers in a couple of months. I’d like to break 1000 followers in early 2017, and hopefully get up to around 1500 by the end of 2017 🙂

  6. best of luck with your goals! I want to continue growing my blog with meaningful and helpful posts. I’m also hoping to start posting more on a weekly basis.

  7. You always amaze me with your blog discipline! You do so much, I get so overwhelmed by all the things and social medias I’m supposed to be building. Haven’t logged into Bloglovin’ in over a year. I’m hoping to find a schedule that works for me this year x

  8. Great to see your goals for the new year. I’ll have a think about mine. I’d like to get into blogging more this year because last year I let it go because I was doing too much in real life. I’m enjoying your fitness blog. I’d love to post more about fitness myself because it’s a part of my daily life, just got to work out how to go about that.

  9. Completely agree with you, setting goals is important, but being realistic is essential. Nobody wants to feel like a failure when they fail to reach the over the top ones.
I haven’t had any goals in 2016, I just started my blog, using Instagram and all and just let it go wherever it felt like going.
This year, I’d love to grow both of my Twitter and Instagram followers to 1,000, anything more would be amazing. And I’m with you on increasing the goal once it’s achieved. I need to engage more, answer comments, post regularly and discover new blogs via Bloglovin’.

Best of luck with your goals!

  10. Good luck with your goals. I think it’s wise to switch from posting weekly to every other week if you don’t have time for it.

  11. I need to do this!! I’d like to grow my blog more this year, shall check out these links as well, need help, ha! I hope you reach your goals 🙂 x

  12. These seem all very attainable, you’ve done all the ground work, onwards! I’ve been doing monthly goals in my blog planner but I want an overall yearly goal or two. Some thinking required this weekend. Thankfully I’m now freelance, so I’ve actually got time to dedicate to it, well I will soon 🙂 I’m a massive fan of the SMART goal set up myself.
