Last week I was invited to review the new menu at Jamie’s Italian in Leeds. I’ve never been to a Jamie’s before, although I’ve always wanted to.
The staff were all really friendly and seated us quickly. Service was fast and the place looked great. I did try and get a photo of the restaurant itself but there were people in it. And people ruin everything.
For starters we got some of the Worlds Best Olives to share. I got the Crunchy Italian Nachos as a vegetarian starter and my boyfriend got the Classic Meat Plank for one, which had Fennel salami, pistachio mortadella, prosciutto & schiacciata piccante, with mini buffalo mozzarella, pecorino & chilli jam, pickles, olives & purple slaw.
The olives were lovely. I’m a big olive fan and these were massive and came with a dip and music bread. The Nachos were weird. Nice, but weird. They reminded me a bit of deep fried ravioli – you’ll see what I mean by the photos below.
I had the Super Green Veggie burger for main, which was a herby chickpea, bean & six-seed patty with balsamic onions, cottage cheese, gem & tomato in a brioche bun. It was served with chips and was delicious, but very filling. I couldn’t eat it all so ended up leaving some of the bun.
My boyfriend had the 35 Day Old 8oz Sirloin Steak, he said it was cooked perfectly.
Throughout the meal the service was great – at first I thought it was because they knew I was reviewing the menu, but it turns out the waiter didn’t know which was a bit awkward. I showed him the email and they sorted it out right away, but at least I can say I’ve had an accurate picture of their service, rather than someone being extra nice to us because they know we’ve been sent in to blog it!
It was a lovely meal. There was plenty of vegetarian options and I saw at least four mains suitable for vegans (a few you have to ask for a vegan version – but hey, progress!). So great if you are vegan/veggie or have friends that are – you can find something for everyone.
Now enjoy the photos 🙂
I’ve only been to Jamie’s Italian once because they don’t have one in Hull but it was really nice and I’d definitely go again if I’m ever near one!

Jamie’s Italian is one of my favourite restaurants, also fan of Jamie Oliver 🙂 We have so many books of him, ha ha! The service is always so good and also the food is delicious. That veggie burger looks so delish! x
I’ve been to Jamie and, as you said, there are plenty of veggie options. That burger looks amazing, I would love to try it.
I wish there’s a Jamie’s kitchen here, I would love to experience it once. And kudos to the restaurant too for excellent service! It’s nice to know that they were good not because they know you’re there to review the place and menu.
