As Christmas is approaching us.. um, yeah. I know that it’s only October. BUT I go straight from Summer to Christmas on account of hating Autumn. So shut your mouth.
So yeah, Christmas is coming and it’s time to start thinking about what to get our friends, family, and partners as gifts.
I’m now 30 years old and I feel like gift buying only gets harder as you get older. I feel like I’ve already bought everyone everything and now I’m stuck for ideas.
That’s why when I get asked about reviewing something at this time of year I’m always like YES CHRISTMAS GIFT LIST IDEA PLEASE.
So that’s what has gone on here.
Leonor Greyl Hair Oil
L’Huile de Leonor Greyl from Leonor Greyl Paris is a renowned celebrity loved product. At almost £30 a pop, it’s not something you would buy regularly, but to treat a special lady in your life (or man, if they like that kind f thing) – it’s an ideal luxury hair care treat.

L’Huile de Leonor Greyl is a pre-shampoo hair oil that will infuse your hair with moisture. It’s perfect for dry, sun damaged and coloured hair. It’s also a great way to protect your hair from the damage of sea-salt and chlorinated pool water on holiday.
The product is a bit like coconut oil, in that it solidifies at room temperature. There was no mention of this on the product which I found a bit odd. I just placed mine on a warm radiator for 5 minutes and it turned into liquid.
You put a small amount onto your hands and smooth through your hair. I applied it from around the ear (like, my hair at ear length, not my actual ears) and below, avoiding my scalp as I didn’t want my hair to appear greasy if it didn’t wash out properly.
I’ve had that problem before when I put baby oil on my scalp after advice from a friend when I had a really dry and flakey scalp. DO NOT DO THAT. Use Nizoral or T-Gel shampoo instead. Please and thanks.
After applying the oil, leave for around 15 minutes. You can even sleep with it on for an even deeper treatment. Shampoo as normal afterwards.

Make sure you wash it out properly. As I usually use T-Gel for my scalp, I tend to just use that on the top of my head and put conditioner on my ends, but this wasn’t a good strategy with this oil. I ended up having to wash my hair again and run shampoo through all of my hair as it was oily. But after doing that, my hair was very soft and smelt lovely. A welcome change from it’s usual dry, frizzy texture.

L’Huile de Leonor Greyl SSP £28.80 from John Bell & Croyden, Space NK, Selfridges, Fenwick, Urban Retreat at Harrods, Harrods Pharmacy, Net-a-Porter, other selected hairdressers and retailers.

Shame you had to wag it again but it’s good that it softened your hair Lucy x
Your hair looks lovely. I was thinking of getting hair oil, but I wasn’t sure it would work on my hair. x
When I first read the title I thought it said Lenor and I was like ‘really ? she’s putting Lenor on her hair?’ haha. This sounds lovely – my hair is sooooo dry it’s ridiculous!

I sometimes use a coconut oil pre shampoo treatment to deep condition my hair. This product sounds really nice and way more luxurious!
Oh it sounds like a great gift idea! It’s nice it has results for you too, even if you had to wash your hair twice. I’m looking at Christmas presents already too, don’t think it’s too early when you have a bunch of people to buy for!
Hope you’ve had a great weekend 🙂
