Something rare happened to me. I was actually at home when my October Glossybox came. I’m always surprised when I’m home when a parcel comes because I usually miss them.

Or they get put in the bin. Thanks, Hermes and Amazon for making me have to get my parcels out of dirty bins. Idiots. One time there were even snails on one of the parcels and I had to shake them off. Not even in a cool Taylor Swift way. Just in a ew there’s snails on my parcels and I want t die way. Gross.

Anway, enough of the disgusting stories. Let’s get on with the old Glossybox unboxing type thing.

Glossybox October 2016

Glossybox October 2016 Truffle Cosmetics Lip Parfait Buttery Lip Cream

Truffle Cosmetics // Lip Parfait Buttery Lip Cream

The thing that stood out most about this product was the packaging. Not only is it bright and cheerful, but it’s made out of cardboard rather than plastic like most lippies.

It’s a nude shade with a matte finish that’s infused with vitamin E to help keep your lips plumped and hydrated.

But mostly LOOK AT THE PACKAGING.

Glossybox October 2016 Universal Beauty Cosmetics Secret Flush

The packaging of this product was also the thing that stuck out to me the most. Mainly because it doesn’t work. I assume you twist to push it up. But it just clicks and clicks and clicks. Pants.

It would be pretty decent if it wasn’t for this. It’s a cream blush and lip stain duo, a simple way to add a bit of colour to both your lips and cheeks. Ideal to take out and about with you or if you’re travelling.

I am sad about this situation.

Glossybox October 2016 PS.. Pro Miracle Pencil

PS.. Pro // Miracle Pencil

Wait, what? Primark. This had a Primark tag on it. I guess this is a Primark product. Amazing use logic there, Corinne. I’m basically a genius.

This is a 3-in-1 pencil that contours your lips and prevents colour from bleeding, as well as acting as a concealer for your skin and can brighten eyes when it’s applied to the water line.

Glossybox October 2016 Shimmering Dry Oil Huile Prodigieuse OR nuxe

Nuxe // Shimmering Dry Oil Huile Prodigieuse OR

At first, I thought this was nail varnish and I was excited because it looked Christmassy. It’s not, though. It’ just a sparkly oil. Apparently, it’s a cult classic but I’ve never heard of it. Sometimes I think brands say this when something is expensive to justify the price.

It has a blend of precious (wut lolz) plant oils and vitamin E to soften and hydrate your skin, it nourishes your hair and also can make your legs appear longer (yeah, I thought WTF too. How can oil make your legs longer?).

I’m intrigued and also confused.

£34

Glossybox October 2016 Honey & Camelina Facial Exfoliator

Bee Good // Honey & Camelina Facial Exfoliator

This is good news because it’s something I will actually use. I love getting face wash in Glossybox! This exfoliates, hydrates and calms angry skin. Great for dry, sensitive and problematic skin!

£10.50

Glossybox October 2016 shampoo

I don’t know what this is. It’s mystery shampoo. I’m guessing we’ll find out at some point what brand it is by. I’m not sure how I feel about this.

It’s going to be on some girls blog later in the month I think. That’s too much effort. Either tell me or don’t.

*table flip*

Overall, I do quite like the October Glossybox. But I am sad the lip/cheek tint is broken and also frustrated that I have this shampoo but don’t actually know what brand it’s by. I’m not sure if I’m going to care enough later in the month to go to this blog and find out like the information leaflet says. Meh.

What do you think about the mystery shampoo?

  1. Beautiful products, especially the Nuxe oil and the lip cream. That package is awesome! It’s a pity that the package of the lip/cheek tint is broken 🙁

  2. You will love the NUXE oil, I have the other version of this oil that has no shimmers in it and it is so good for hair and skin, but this one would be lovely to use in summer when you are on holidays and have a nice tan!

  3. Great post, honest and funny, I agree the packaging for the lipstick is fantastic and interesting it’s made from cardboard, I wonder if it’s recycled?
As for the blush, I’d contact them and be like wut!

    HANNAH FROM NYLONTOAST

  4. I HATE Hermes, one of their guys accused my dog of biting them – long story and I know I’m biased but he was innocent haha! Anyway I love the look of the lipstick and the mystery shampoo intrigues me x

  5. I adore the packaging of that lipstick, it looks so cute! Mystery shampoo, maybe once you use it, you won’t ever need to wash your hair again that’s why there’s no brand lol :p x

  6. Glossybox does seem really good actually. I don’t mind the shampoo mystery so much – I think for blogging its not ideal. (But please update this post once you know!) But I also have a feeling I am going to have zero reaction (or interest) knowing what brand it is.

  7. Nuxe products generally are superb, I love their lip balm, but haven’t tried the oil and not sure about sparkly bits. The lips balm looks beautiful and love that it is cardboard packaging Lucy x

  8. Hmm mystery shampoo… would’ve been nice if they included some information about it. How could you even know if it’s right for your hair type. I’ve used the Nuxe Shimmering Dry Oil Huile Prodigieuse. It’s lovely and smells like summer to me.

  9. I love the packaging of that lip cream, too! Shame about the broken item 🙁 This looks like a better box than in recent months though. I don’t think I’d be happy with the mystery shampoo – I’m like you, either tell me or don’t bother. Don’t make me try to remember later in the month to go to someone’s blog to find out. Waayyy to much effort, tbh!

  10. I’m glad this month wasn’t sucky. I’ve noticed a lot of fails in these boxes. It looks like they’re stepping their game up.

  11. Very sorry to hear about the blusher, I hate it when such things happen. However, you should definitely give the oil a try. I got a sample of it last summer as well and I was skeptical despite having used a hand cream from he brand previously (which I love btw) and it was an amazing product. The oil feels really nice on the skin and the scent is just divine. I tried the normal, clear one though. Seems like a good box, the brands are less well known than those from the previous box, but that is fine. It gives us the chance to learn about new brands. The Primark product is a bit odd, I mean sure, I know they create products, but I wold have never expected to see one in a box

    Enjoy!

  12. Oh my gosh, a Glossy Box that’s actually good. I’LL BE DAMNED.

Nuxe & Bee Good are awesome, that exfoliator is dreams.

  13. I’ve heard some good things about the Bee Good brand, but the rest of these are all foreign to me! Tania xx taniamichele.blogspot.co.uk
