At the Aldi Christmas event last month we spoke to loads of people that were buyers and worked as PR’s. A few took our details down, one of those was for the Aldi beauty range.

I had no idea that Aldi even had a beauty range, but it was pretty extensive:

A few days after the event, I had an email asking if I’d like to try some of the 2016 Lacura range.

Yes. Of course, I would.

They sent me a serum, an eye gel and face cream.

The Lacura Expert Wrinkle Filling Day Cream is the exact consistency I want in a moisturiser, it’s thick, but not too think that it’s hard to rub in. The only thing I didn’t like about this is that it stung my eyes if I got it anywhere near my eyebrows. I think there’s something in it that my eyes are sensitive to because I’ve had a similar experience with a No.7 day cream.

Both the eye and face serum are a clear, almost watery liquid. It smells a bit of vodka but it disappears as soon as applied. My gripe with this is it made my skin feel very tight and sticky, but the moisturiser over it stopped that quickly.

Of course, to see real results it takes 4 weeks to reduce the appears of fine lines and wrinkles. Initial impression after a week of use is that it’s great value for the price, although I do feel they are better ones on the high street though you need to pay a few quid more.

I like it enough that I’d buy again if I was on a budget and I’ll use this up until it’s gone.

The packaging is lovely and you wouldn’t think it was from Aldi without knowing before hand.

I’m excited to see what else they bring out in the next few years and I’ll be keeping my eye on their range. I just feel like it’s probably not made for really dry and sensitive skin like mine!

  1. Oh wow, I had no idea that Aldi had their own make-up and beauty range either, but I’ll definitely have to try some of their products out soon. The moisturiser sounds quite good, and I’d like to see how my skin fares as I suffer from dry and sensitive sky too. Otherwise it would be cool to see if they bring out a range for sensitive skin in the future! – Tasha

  2. I’ve heard good things about some of Aldi’s beauty products. I did use one of their shampoos before and it seemed to do a good job for the price x

  3. I like that these are cheaper alternatives because let’s face it, not everyone are able to splurge on skincare or makeup.

  4. Aldi is definitely the supermarket to watch, they definitely adapt with the times to bring customers what they want. They do loads of products I love, wine, charcuterie and beauty. Lucy x

  5. Their beauty range has had some really good write ups in the past, I remember when everyone went nuts for this night cream they brought out a couple of years ago, shops literally sold out of it for weeks on end because it became so popular and it was only about £3! It’s a budget beauty line I really want to look into!
