We all know I’m moving house very soon.
Last Monday, I went to Tesco and bought LOADS of things for my new pad. A new hoover, kettle, baking trays, a corkscrew for my wine addiction…
Another thing I bought was basically one of everything from the method cleaning range.
Method is an environmentally friendly, cruelty-free brand. As a vegetarian, I’ve been trying to learn more about natural and cruelty-free products, so I decided to start over when I moved house and buy from the method range.
It must have been fate because a few days later I had an e-mail in my inbox about working with Method to share their campaign with you and host a giveaway. It’s great timing because a few months ago this wouldn’t have been a campaign I would have been interested in working on, but when I got the e-mail, I was already planning a post about method when I had moved into my new place and used their products!
It’s 2016, the era of social media, coloured in eyebrows and selfies.
It’s surprising that from a survey of 1000 UK adults, social media likes and retail therapy aren’t actually the things that make us happiest.
It seems the old best things in live are free saying still stands, with 69% of people being made happier by a sunny day and bright colours making 58% of us feeling happier and more optimistic.
To launch the movement ‘the method way’, method have brought the above bright artwork to London to bright joy and happiness to Londoners.
#themethodway is all about bringing delightful surprises to people and the planet in a design-led, colourful way. The artwork marks the start of a series of delights they’ll be revealing over the summer.
Psychologist Emma Kenny, comments, “Colour and brightness raises our endorphins and generally makes us happier. However, as our lives have become increasingly complex and social media likes have become social currency, it is encouraging to see recognition of how such simple things are still relevant in maintaining our general wellbeing. It is important that we try to find ways in our everyday lives to experience more of the things that give us contentment and lift our spirits. Whether it’s a bright summer’s day or the smell of a fresh fragrance – these are just some of the simple ways that we can achieve more colour and brightness.”
