What I did at Christmas

Yesterday I posted about what I got for Christmas. Today I wanted to tell you what I got up to on Christmas Eve, Christmas day…

Yesterday I posted about what I got for Christmas. Today I wanted to tell you what I got up to on Christmas Eve, Christmas day and Boxing day.

I was so tired on Christmas Eve! I didn’t get to bed until 2am the night before as I was working until 10pm. I got home at 11pm and was wrapping presents and packing to go to my parents house.

I had to get up at 6am for work and the day seemed to go so long! Finally, 5pm came and I drove to my parents house.

I had planned on going to the pub but I was so tired from work I decided to stay at home. This meant I was able to take my parents, Aunt and Uncle in the car though so they didn’t have to walk!

After dropping them off, I came home to have a bit of a party on my own. First, I spoke to my brother and his family who live in Australia on Facetime, while working my way through my parents alcohol selection.

Next, I ended up on Periscope for an hour and half. Haha. I was feeling the alcohol by the end of the session. I had a quick video chat to JEMMA DORK PORK and then went to bed. It was so much fun, even though I was wasted.

I got up the next day and after playing around on Twitter for a bit, I went downstairs and made myself a veggie bacon sandwich. My Mum came down shortly after and we exchanged gifts. After this, my brother came with his twin babies.

They had to shoot off for their Christmas dinner, which left me time to shower, get dressed and lay all my presents out to photograph for the obligatory present haul post that I do every year.

When I was ready, I wrote the blog post post and then we went to my Aunts around 2pm. I hung out in the kitchen with my cousins while dinner was prepared and then we all sat down for the starter.

The table was laid out wonderfully and we had our names attached to little baubles. Prosecco was had, obviously.

This was my first year as a vegetarian, to be honest I felt like a right arsehole for being so awkward about everything. My Mum made me Quorn chicken fillets in vegetable gravy before to take up to my Aunts, they just needed sticking in the microwave for a bit. I also had some cheese and leek sausages. Apart from that, I ate the normal stuff, Yorkshire puds, parsnips, sprouts, stuffing.. it was so tasty and I was so full after.

After food, we didn’t have room for pudding yet. My Aunt did something amazing though, she bought everyone a present which had a riddle on about who it belong to. It was such a lovely touch!

We played some quizzes after dinner, our team one both times! Then we had pudding and settled in front of the TV to watch the usually Christmas TV shows!

Everyone was watching soaps, which I hate, but I was more than happy to spend some time on Twitter on my phone.

My cousin got a nose hair trimmer as his gift, it was shaped as a finger but looked more like a dildo. It was so funny ha.

After TV and plenty of booze, it was time to go home! We left around midnight and I went straight to bed.

I woke up the next morning a little bit hungover.

I scheduled Tweets for the day and spoke to some of my INTERNET FRIENDS.

After showering and washing my hair, my brother came with his family. Shortly after that, my other brother came with his wife and TWINS. We ate, drank, played with toys and the twins. Then they left a few hours later.

This brings me to now. I’m currently sat at the living room table, it’s almost 8pm. I’m slightly drunk on Baileys. Mum is playing on her iPad and watching Eastenders, Dad is also on some form of tablet device. And I’m blogging. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Hope you had a lovely Christmas!

  2. Sounds like a busy but fun few days with family! ๐Ÿ™‚

Glad you had a merry Christmas! Ours was quieter but just as good ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s always fun seeing how babies and kids enjoy Christmas isn’t it?

In response to your question on my post, I’ve packed away all the regular non-maternity clothes I no longer fit into into the wardrobe in the study, haha!

  3. This was my first veggie Christmas too! So tricky isn’t it, I was SO close to being tempted by sausage rolls until I went for a walk and found some ADORABLE little pigletsโ€”then I didn’t want to eat them after all!

    1. I need to be better prepared next year! It was a bit awkward because we had dinner at my aunts rather than my parents like usual so I felt a bit bad being so awkward about food!

  4. Sounds like you had a fantastic time! Christmas was so hectic this year but it was amazing to finally get to see both families and spend lots of time with them! Two days on and I still feel like I’m recovering from it all – and I barely had a drink!

    The twins are TOO cute!
