When I opened my December Glossybox on Monday evening, I was so happy to see that it was called The Rose Gold Edit. Even though I usually hate it when things are named ‘edit‘, just about as much as when things are described as ‘autumnal‘, but that’s a different story.
The box is a lovely metallic rose gold, which is beautiful to look at, but a pain in the arse to photograph.
I’d just like to take this opportunity to say that I would really like to shake/stab/kick the person who decided to package products in reflective packaging. Do you not want bloggers to write about it? Photographing shiny stuff is an art. And it’s an art I just don’t have.
But let’s all oooo and aaahh at how pretty it is. Or was. That was before I set it on fire.
Glossybox December 2015
être belle // golden skin caviar eye roll on
This handy little roll on is just a sample of the full size product, but it’s a way to soothe and hydrate the delicate skin around your eyes.
With it being so small, it’s perfect to slip into your handbag so you can top up and keep your tired eyes looking fresh as a daisy all day long.
£30.99
collection // long lasting nail effects
This full size bottle in touch of colour is stunning. Rose gold glitter nail varnish is perfect for the festive period and I know I’m going to be wearing this over Christmas and into the new year.
£2.99
essence // liquid lipstick
This shade is in show off and when I first saw it, I thought I would be really disappointed in it. Despite being called a lipstick, it appears like a pigmented lip gloss. I just felt it would be sticky and ick.
I was right, sadly. The colour is okay but it is sticky like a gloss – not a lipstick at all.
Off with yer head.
£2.50
bio-cellulous // second skin mask
Ohhh this is fancy pants, isn’t it? This is actually classed as an extra 6th product because ITS CHRISTMAS (if you didn’t know that already) and Glossybox wanted to spoil us.
There were 4 different masks you could get, and I was sent the calming version. They’re perfect for refreshing you’re skin over the party season, where you’re probably going to be drinking all the mulled wine and eating all of the cheese. Or is that just me?
£8.50
hylamide // pore delete
The name of this brand reminds me of the word hymen – woo – two vagina references in a post in a row! LUCKY READERS!
Now that is out of the way, let’s talk about this pore delete stuff. So, This is a way to, well, delete pores, It is a way to delete them temporary before applying makeup, it’s not a permanent fir at all, think of it as Benefits Porefessional – works until you wash it off.
£18
so susan // statement skin highlight pencil
This is a highlighter pen that you can blend across you skin to leave a beauty, dewy glow.
I’m so glad I got this because I was just talking about how I want to experiment more with highlighter and NOW I WILL!
£15
So, if you’re still reading this then let’s get to the title of this post.
So, when I was taking the photos of this box, I decided to use some candles as I’ve not used any in a blog post for a while and it seemed like a good idea at the time.
Then I remembered how long my hair is. Trying to photograph things close up with long hair, paired with candles being involved is like an extreme sport.
I was so focused on not getting my hair near an open flame that I forgot that the contents of a Glossybox is totally flammable. Until it all went up in smoke. It’s a good job I can blow really hard because that is what my reaction was. I blew a lot and eventually it went out. Oh no. Idiot Corinne strikes again. Can you believe I’m almost 30? Wutwut.
So, like, can we just be careful when using candles as a prop?
The highlight pen sound interesting to me and is very pretty the package and shade.
Glad to hear that you’re alright after the box going up in flames, Corinne! I’d certainly try the pore delete product, do you find it better than the Benefit one?
Have to congratulate you. Two vagina mentions back to back and a cheeky little association to a blow job. Well done you, that’s blogging goals lol lol lol xx
Looks like you got some great products too 🙂

This nail polish is so beautiful! 🙂
such a lovely beauty box…so many different products that I never tried))) I would like to try this, it sounds good!!!!
I’ve got a similar pet peeve when it comes to the word “edit” too, haha. The box looks absolutely lovely, Corinne. Also, did you really just make two vagina references in one post…? Only you, I swear! Such a shame about the lipstick because it looked so promising!

OMG, Corinne, I honestly wish I can meet you in real life, I think we’ll have a laugh because we both are pretty much awkward klutzes. HAHA! I have seen another Glossybox but I’m pretty sure the content is a little different.
Oh Corinne, this is such a me thing to do! x
Lovely post so many goodies, I love the highlighter pen and lip gloss:) Lovely photos as well 🙂
Love this glossy box, it looks so festive and fun 🙂 Have to try out that vividly red liquid lipstick x

I really like how shiny and festive the box looks however I am not sure about the content of it, apart from the glittery nail polish and red lipstick, it doesn’t really feel festive. Next time be careful with the candles, my last accident was around 2.5 years ago, where I almost burnt a cover, since then I’ve never put candles close to my bed 🙂

Wow good thing you blew really hard…. I’m not one to judge I’ve had my cat singe his tail once so candles and I also do not mix. Love the highlighter, really disappointed in that lipstick/gloss. Hate sticky glosses.
Haha omg! I can’t believe that happened, what are you like :’-) Glad the products (and you obvs!) were all ok. Love the look of that glittery polish x

Ha ha, candles, long hair, and a flammable box sound like quite the combination! Glad you were able to put the fire out quickly. The candles do look nice in the pictures 🙂
Yikes! Good thing you were able to put a swift end to the fire and nothing got damaged. This looks like a really good box.
Only YOU could manage to set your GlossyBox on fire! The hazards of blogging – it’s such a dangerous game we play!

Haha only me. Extreme sport is blogging.
This had me in stitches! Totally understand the long hair issues- tie it up next time maybe? (insert crying laughing face many times!)
Hope you aren’t too upset about the box- it is(was?) so pretty!

Haha yes I should tie it up but I’m an idiot
I’ve been toying with the idea of subscribing to something like Glossybox or Birchbox for a while as I think it’s a great way of discovering new products I might not otherwise have found! This box looks great, the nail polish is stunning and I’m really interested in the Pore Delete! I’d love to know if it’s on a par with Benefit’s Porefessional?
Great post 🙂
