Hi.

Okay so right, if you know me, like, REALLY KNOW ME, then you’ll know that alcohol is one of my favourite things. Alongside cheese and bed and internet, alcohol is right up there.

So when House of Fraser invited me to create a cocktail of my own and offered to send me some glasses from their glassware section, as well as a cocktail shaker, I was game.

I was to pick one of the three glasses and create a cocktail of my choice.

I picked the Martini glass with the gold rim as I thought it was perfect for the type of cocktail I wanted to create – A CHRISTMAS COCKTAIL.

And because I love alliteration, and I’m vain, I wanted to call it the Christmas Cartree Cocktail.

You know, in honour of the blawgggg and all.

I wasn’t sue how it was going go turn out, but I’m happy with the outcome and it’s very festive – well, I think so anyway.

Less babble, more drinking…

The Christmas Cartree.

How to make it:

  • 1 shot vodka gold
  • 1 shot spiced rum
  • top up with apple juice

Vodka gold is a cinnamon vodka with gold leaf in, which means it both looks and tastes like Christmas. That, topped with a spiced rum which reminds me of mulled wine, and topped up with pure apple juice makes a perfect cinnamon spiced apple flavoured drink.

Yummy!  christmas cocktail christmas cocktail christmas cocktail christmas cocktail christmas cocktail

If you were to create a cocktail, what would you call it and what would go in it?

  1. I love that gold rimmed glass and the copper cocktail shaker. I’d call mine the Sizzling Suze and it would have champagne and berries in 😉

  2. Ooh a nice festive drink in a festive looking glass 🙂 I’m not much of a drinker so I’ve no idea what to make.

  3. This actually sounds pretty good. Must say I’m not a huge cocktail girl, always prefer red wine and beer.

  4. Love the glasses, great picks! Alcohol is one of my favourite thing too haha 🙂 I’ve never tried something like that however I am sure it tastes really good! I am not a cocktail master buy my fiance is so I don’t really know what I’d call mine 🙂

  6. Oh that looks (and sounds awesome!). It’s been so long since I’ve had anything alcoholic to drink I’d be lost trying to come up with a cocktail, haha!

  7. Gin, gin and more gin. Then a splash of gin on the side just to be sure. Perfection!

Cocoa infused gin with cranberry juice, ice and a few glace cherries makes a very tasty cocktail indeed! I love that gold rimmed glass, so fancy pants!

  8. Unfortunately due to all the medication I take, I can’t drink alcohol, but that looks interesting for a cocktail.
