Speaking out loud in class.

This is what springs to mind when I think about comfort zones. Being in school and having to do a presentation or read out a section of a book. Scary.

When I lived in France for a year, I had to stand up and talk in front of full classes as I was teaching English. That really knocked the fear of public speaking out of me, but that was a long time ago. And the fear has slowly crept back in.

People have many different comfort zones. What’s scary for one person might be a walk in the park for another. Some comfort zones needs to be challenge, some don’t.

Like, a lot of people want to do a sky dive. I can tell you there is no way in hell I am jumping out of a plane! No way at all!

How have you been stepping out of your comfort zone lately?

Q1: Are you the type of person that easily steps out of your comfort zone?

Q2: When was the last time you had to be brave and do something that scared you?

Q3: Does doing things that scare us make us stronger?

Q4: How do you keep level headed when you’re about to step out of your comfort zone?

Q5: What goals do you want to achieve that will require you to step out of your comfort zone?

  5. I find it hugly important to step out of our comfort zones, in my case I’d sit in bed all day hidden behind my computer screen. But I can’t live like that, life is for living! xx

  6. Believe it or not, the one thing that is really makes me uncomfortable is having my picture taken. I hate it with a passion! I’ve no idea how to pose or smile and when I do, I look like an idiot. I’m trying to be better at it but gah, it’s a long process.

  7. Comfort zone is just another zone to cross for me. Some of the barriers for me is what I picked for a reason e.g. bikini pic on Instagram 🙂

  9. This is a very interesting topic Corinne, sometimes I struggle out of my comfort zone I’m shy in certain aspects of my life but also suel take risks, learn to swim would be definitely out of my comfort zone!

  10. Hi Corinne!
What an interesting blog post! You’ve done some great research- I really like this way of presenting it. Hmmm, do I step out of my comfort zone? At times, yes, other times no!x

  11. I submitted my resignation at work because my anxiety was just getting worse and worse and they’re the source of it. That is out of my comfort zone because I don’t have a new job to fall back on. But the reason I did it was for me. I didn’t want to spiral down into something that I would regret becoming later.
