Last week, I posted an outfit post with a dress I hadn’t worn or blogged about for two years. As many of you seemed to enjoy the Then and Now series, I decided to continue.

This weeks segment comes with a confession.

I originally posted this outfit in January 2014. I bought it before I went home for Christmas with the intention of wearing the blue tartan dress at some point over the festive period.

I was excited about the dress, because I had already become slightly obsessed with the red version and saw this one on sale.

I picked out the same size and drove home for Christmas, feeling excited.

Disaster struck when I tried it on. It wouldn’t zip. It got to half way up my back, and ziltch. Nada. NONNONO. I did that thing where you try to breath in as you zip up, or when you try to pull it down and zip it so it’s looser, then I tried to do it really fast so I could fool this knobhead dress to zip up before it had known what had hit it.

But alas, it could not be tricked. BUT I LOVED IT.

So I blogged it anyway. It just wasn’t zipped up. Shut up.

I’ve tried it on several times since then and it’s never zipped up. I was actually going to finally let it go to dress heaven (well, or hell, seeing as this dress was an absolute arsehole, in my opinion) and decided to try it on one more time.

It finally zips all the way up!

Hello new dress. You are no longer dead to me.

The end.

  3. I love how honest you are Corinne. I still have so many things in my wardrobe with broken zips buttons or other problems that I never get around to fixing and I’m sure I’ve worn things held together with hidden safety pins more than once haha. This dress is lovely though πŸ™‚

  4. Congrats for the zip, it’s such a feeling of achievement, I know it πŸ™‚
The dress looks lovely on you and the pattern is beautiful, really cute.

  5. Haha I love it – I’ve got so many items which don’t fit but I can’t bear to throw away… With moving home soon I really need to have a clear out!

  11. You sneak haha! Can’t even tell it wasn’t zipped, that’s like tv trickery! (like the way they bulldog peoples clothes up their back to they fit tighter!)

I do love that dress though, the colour is so pretty! Yay for getting that zip right up, you’re looking amazing! OH and you’ll be s proud of me, I actually FINALLY did weight/strength training!

Now I can’t walk. Totally your fault!

  12. Congrats, girl! The color and print looks so lovely on you. If I were you, I would’ve probably worn that dress anyway πŸ˜‰

The opposite seems to be happening to me – I started working out somewhat recently and I think my butt got bigger cause I went to buy cute new undies yesterday and they’re kiiiinda tight. I’m not complaining of course hahaha.

  13. So funny! I know the feeling though, I have a cute dress that I bought off this Chinese website and if I zip it up fully I can’t breath so sometimes I just zip it up half way and wear a cardigan… risky business though!
