I got this Nicka K New York blush in my January Glossybox. The blusher I currently use also came from a Glossybox about a year ago. I’ve just hit pan on it and wanted to know if I could use this as my next staple or if I should buy a new one.

First off, the packaging is adorable. It screws open and there’s a sponge/pad that you use for application. There is a mirror on top which is pretty small, though you could get away with using it if you had no other option as you can just about see one cheek at a time.

It’s that plastic that looks metal which can come across tacky. You pick it up expecting a heavy glass tub but it’s light plastic. Good for carrying around, but if you’re after quality packaging it’s probably not for you.

I found the application process pretty easy. I tapped the sponge on my cheek which realised a puff of product, then blended it in. It doesn’t release more product if you just blend so there’s no need to worry about a lack of control.

A apologise for the scabby nails. I didn’t realise they were so naff. Waaahh. THIS IS REAL LIFE, PEOPLE. They’re worse now, by the way.

Overall I like this product and I probably will use it in place of my old blusher when it runs out completely. I like the tone of it and feel like it gives me that flushed cheeky look that I’m after.

Are you a fan? What’s your blush of choice?

  1. I rarely use blush as I’m pale with pink/red cheeks but I like how subtle this one is.

  2. I like the fact that it has the sponge on it, could make application better

  3. I can’t be without blusher as I am naturally pale and looks like death. Love this blusher shade on you, Corinne, it brightens up your face beautifully.

  4. This blusher looks so perfect on your skin! It’s a lovely colour! x

  5. This is such a lovely looking blusher. I tend to go for Benefit Sugarbomb as a good all rounder but I love to try out new ones x

  6. It’s been YEARS (I’m old now, I can say that!) since I used a similar ‘dab on’ blush, and back then, when you dabbed on you were left with perfect circles of blush right on the apples of your cheeks – and there were no blogs around then to tell you how important blending was! You can imagine the look I sported *cringe*

This looks like a looser powder so it’d be easy to blend out, and build able too so I’m guessing you don’t have to worry about going overboard.

    Sounds nifty!

  7. I am a sucker for packaging and this looks really beautiful and would look great on a dresser. I have favourite blushers that I use and don’t really stray from these but the colour of this looks pretty on Lucy x
