E45 has got to be one of the most recognised brands in the UK. I don’t think I’ve ever met a parent that doesn’t use a pot of E45 to help nappy rash and to soften babies’ dry skin. The E45 baby range includes various creams, lotions, and oils that are dermatologically tested and suitable for sensitive skin. These products are formulated with gentle and nourishing ingredients to provide hydration and protection for delicate baby skin. Parents often rely on the E45 baby range to maintain their little one’s skin health and prevent common issues such as dryness or irritation.

I’ve heard of women who have this as a staple in their skincare routine, too, mainly in the form of that big pot that’s there to rescue any dry patches.

I was sent two products from the E45 range to try out.

E45 Moisturising Lotion

This moisturising lotion is perfume free and will reduce roughness and flaking. It’s suitable for sensitive skin too, so perfect for someone like me who can get a reaction to anything slightly harsh. I’ve been using this on my dry elbows and feet.

I love how easily this soaks into my skin. It has a very mild, clean scent.

E45 Overnight Repair and Protect Hand Cream

I’ve never been a fan of using hand cream, because I hate how it feels, especially when you wash your hands afterwards. I’ve been suffering from dry, chapped hands the past few months though. I have to wash my hands a lot at work and I had red, cracked skin on my thumbs and hands a week or so again. It was so sore, itchy and starting to bleed. Not a nice look.

Because of this, I’ve been looking for the best hand cream I can find. I’ve been using a few I’ve had in subscription boxes but found that they are irritating because of the scents and fancy shit they stick in ’em. I even tried one by Dove, but though it smelled delicious, it stung straight away.

To combat my poor dry hands, I’ve been keeping a hand cream in my car, it’s dead easy then for me to remember to put it on to and from work when I’m stuck at a red light. I now keep this on my bedside table and use it at night before I go to sleep.

This product helps repair the skin overnight by boosting skin cell regeneration. The best thing about it for me is that it doesn’t sting!

  1. I’ve been really loving the hand cream at the moment. I love that it quickly soaks in and doesn’t leave my hands all sticky

  2. I apply a daily moisturiser in the mornings and a night moisturiser in the evenings. I also take vitamin supplements for my hair and skin.

  3. E45 is great for dry skin it is what I always turn too if my skin is playing up. The best hand cream is La Octaine it is so creamy Lucy x

  4. cleans every night and morning >Drink plenty of water .eats lots of fruit & veg. .Apply a quality moisturiser for dry skin.

  5. I don’t nearly enough. Working in the NHS I can be using hand gel many times an hour and my skin gets really dry. This would help loads!

  6. I exfoliate top to toe a couple of times a week, especially in the winter when skin is all wrapped up. And I always slap on the body lotion after my shower. If I’m tight for time, I use an in-shower moisturiser. I don’t think they’re as effective but better than nothing.

  7. I would like to say that I don’t do any housework so my hands are soft enough but sadly, that is a pipe dream. I use hand cream morning and night.

  8. Me and my little boy both just E45 cream, he uses the child friendly bath additive too as he suffers badly from extrema like I did when I was little. E45 has helped me and my son get our smooth skin back and improve my confidence

  9. Lots of moisturiser before I go to bed, particularly my hands. And if they’re a real mess from constant washing at work I put on as much as I can and put gloves over the top, works really well, they’re so much better in the morning.

  10. I make sure I use a good moisturiser, especially in the winter and I try and drink lots of water, I don’t always manage that though!

  11. I’ve never heard of the brand but any product meant to resolve the issue of dry hands is a product for me. Thanks for sharing your rec 🙂

  12. During the winter my skin is extra dry, the only few things that works for me – drinking loads of water from my favourite huge glass, taking hot bath and scrubbing more regularly and also good body lotion which I have to put on twice a day 🙂

  13. Hah a comment about how to help my dry skin… well I have eczema and in winter it’s awful. I can actually hardly write or move my right hand at the moment ‘cos the eczema has got so bad and painful. I try to avoid beauty products on my face, I find moisturizers actually dry my skin out. I’ve used E45 but needed something stronger so I’ve also used Oilatum and now Diprobase. I’ve started using coconut oil too, I can’t recommend it enough! It’s more soothing than a cream and really sinks into the skin making it feel much more nourished, and it smells good but is natural! xo

  14. I have the most AMAZING beeswax handcream.. the heat of your hands melts it and it’s just divine (& organic!)

  15. With E45, its the only thing I use as my skin is very sensitive. Its also a good idea to exfoliate once a week too to remove dead skin cells

  16. I moisturise as much as possible as I wash my hands a lot and suffer with really bad dry skin in the Winter months. I eat a clean, healthy diet and drink 3 litres of water a day too.

  17. I use a moisturising body wash when in the bath, then use ordinary moisturiser in winter but use after-sun from spring to autumn when the sun is stronger as I find it works best to replenish any moisture lost and will also repair any damage done by the sun. Also I drink loads or water, fruit juice or diluted down cordial so my body has plenty of fluid to put into it.
